Luminerran-Kyonian War Timeline (1932-1968)

1932-Peoples Revolution in Kingdom of Kyonia.

1933- Peoples Republic of Kyonia formed with aid from Krevyon Union.

1947- Border disputes over Winmow Island arise between Luminerra and Kyonia, both sides have legitimate claims over the area.

1948- The Quelvic League steps in on the Winmow Island Disputes, splitting the island between the two.

1953- Grener Incident. A child runs across the border to Luminerra and gets shot. Tensions rise as a result.

1956- A Kyonian airliner carrying civilians and 7 Lantazi citizens gets mistaken for a military jet and is shot down. Luminerra attempts cover-up and is condemned as a result, Grand Councilor Gerald Calimer resigns and is replaced by Derlin Milhs. The whole affair leads to strained relations with the Republic of Lantaz.

1957- Minor border skirmishes and raids occur on the Winmow Border.

1958-The Luminerran nuclear project begins in secret, with help from the Velvash Republic.

1959- An outbreak of Hrelo Plague in Vonor is linked to Kyonia.

1960- Fergos Train Bombing; A train en-route to Kyonia blows up near a Kyonian outpost. The Luminerran government denies all wrongdoing blaming it on terrorists.

1965- Kyonian soldiers overun the defenses of a small village and commit mass killings and atrocities, the Quelvic League condemns Kyonia's involvement in the massacre and enacts sanctions, Luminerra begins rapid militarization.[2]

May 31, 1966- Luminerra declares war on Kyonia.

June 1, 1966- Luminerran warships launch a suprise attack on the port city of Royler and enforce a blockade on Winmow Island.

June 2, 1966- Operation Wooden Fortress is put in action, Luminerran troops move pass the Kyonian Border on the island and capture the cities of Welloberg, and Pordam. The Kingdom of Valktonia sends weapons to Luminerra.

June 4, 1966- Luminerra conducts air attacks on important areas in Kyonia and Winmow Island [1]

June 19, 1966- The Kyonians launch a counterattack on the northwest of the island and capture Vonor.

June 22, 1966- The Kyonian Air Force begins bombing raids on the island, crippling Luminerran Air Force bases in the north.

July 24, 1966- Luminerran troops capture the cities of Granrale, Selo, and Retweel. Vonor is liberated

July 26, 1966- Kyonian troops attempt to capture the key city of Ailam in order to separate the Luminerran troops on the south. The Krevyon Union sends aid to Kyonia.

July 28, 1966- The Luminerran Navy sends Task Force 7 of the Tyontevi Fleet with the LFS Saber in an effort to regain air superiority.

July 30, 1966- The Kyonian Navy sinks a cruise ship on its way to Valktonia, claiming that it was secretly carrying weapons.

August 7, 1966- The Luminerran Air Force succeeds in repelling a Kyonian attack on the city of Vonor.

August 10, 1966- Both sides engage in bloody air warfare.

September 6, 1966- Naval battles occur on the Tyontevi Canal, causing significant damage to the world economy.

March 9, 1967- Operation Meteor begins with coordinated bombing raids on Kyonian bases.

March 24, 1967- Luminerran troops capture the cities of Pelor and Karania, Seige of Lorm begins.

April 13, 1967- Grener and Lorm are captured by the Luminerrans with great loss. Kyonian resistance in the south weakens.

April 14, 1967- Kyonia launches surprise air raid on Ailam, wounding many.

April 15, 1967- Luminerran troops capture Yorya Air Base. LFS Saber is damaged at port.

May 25, 1967- Peace demonstrations begin in Luminerra and spread rapidly.

August 30, 1967- Luminerran Troops capture most of Winmow Island.

January 17, 1968- The first Luminerran nuclear bomb test, codenamed "Brose" occured in the deserts of Zevidonia.

March 29, 1968- Both sides agree on peace. Winmow Island is ultimately given to Luminerra and incorporated into the State of Luprai.

[1] This would be the only known attack on Kyonian home territory.
[2] The Quelvic League was still in its infancy, so it could do little more to stop the war than enact sanctions.
