Hello gameside folks! I apologize for not finishing this earlier due to some recent developments, but now I am happy to present you last week's weekly news! We're also not going to have this week's weekly news, as I intend for that to be compiled with next week's news.

Former Grand Admiral Vorhollah and our current vice president has recently been awarded with a triumph, one of Europeia's highest awards for excellence and hard work!

Gameside Minister Prov Resigns!?

No doubt many of you are familiar with Prov, who has diligently served as our gameside minster for a couple months. He organized our Flag contest, our EBC contest, our Dispatch contest, wrote much of the Weekly News preceding this one, and so much more. Unfortunately, Prov resigned as minister two days ago due to personal reasons in real life and in Europeia, and has since left the region entirely. We wish him a bright future for the remainder of his Nationstates career, and in real life.

An Update: Prov has recently announced his retirement from Nationstates as a whole. May he enjoy the start of a new period in his life, and thank you Prov for being around. O7

Grande pudimland has since been nominated as Minister of Gameside, and shall pick up where Prov left off in the ministry!

We've got some exciting things going on in rp this week!

Oil found off the coast of Cosça Arenata!

A few weeks ago, Silvamar's state-owned oil company Starpetro found a large oil reserve off the coast of the state of Cosça Arenata. Estimates are around the reserve being able to produce 103k barrels of oil per day. The company has highlighted potential issues that may arise when attempting to mine such a large amount this early into the operation, but Congress has since given the green light to it. Mining will commence in the next few years, although estimates of when exactly the operation shall start vary. Will this vast field give the Silvamar Economy a much-needed growth spurt?

Technological Development and Growth in Boğazia (Eesti) May Lead to Economic Boom, Financial Analysts Speculate
Following the end of the Persian War, Boğazia has refocused on a policy of rebuilding and development. The government continues to subsidize major infrastructural projects, as well as the construction of multiple new factories producing a variety of technologies, especially robotics, where Boğazia continues to rise in the global market. There have also been major breakthroughs in science, with researchers making significant advances in robotics, aerospace, and healthcare. Experts speculate that based on the current rate of growth, in 2 years, Boğazia is expected to experience a major economic boom with its continued investments into industry and science.

New "anti-fascist" programs in Pudimland secretly a way to deter political opponents?

Pudimland's leader David Markov has largely been seen as an advocate of economic growth, national defense, and his plan of a "Leap into a New World." Meanwhile, his main opposition is the far-right Mars Fremover coalition, led by senator Kras Nokiatio, has largely been critisizing the government and calling Leader Markov's ideals an "Extreme Unitarist Policy", which they believe will lead to tighter government control over the nation. Markov, hearing this, publicly denounced the party, stating that "constitutionally fascist ideas are restricted." When in mid-March 2000 Markov implemented the first of his many "reforms", the Mars Fremover Coalition outright protested against the implementation of the policy, while the Socialist Party proposed the allocation of funds into social and demographic issues, as well as reforming law enforcement. Seemingly seeling to oppose this, Markov announced that he would essentially give unprecedented power to law enforcement to "root out fascists/monarchists and dissidents", effectively further alienating the MFC and Socialist Party.
Debate immediately ensued in congress, but was pushed to the sidelines due to the wars in Aurelia, which was developing rapidly and turning into a major imperialist conflict. Markov, seeing an opportunity, fully supported his reforms as necessary to shield Pudimland from capitalist, fascist and imperialist ideals. With this in mind, support for the legislation strengthened as a preventative action, achieving 79% of support, and the reforms were passed in spite of the right-winged parties.

Historical construction of Center for Abuse Victims finally concludes after 20 long years
Begun in 1976, the Artemis Academy was the ultimate goal of one Helena Stern. Being sexually assaulted and hospitalized, with her assailants never found and her story being dismissed as a lie, Helena started to draft plans of a safe place were victims of sexual assaults, physical and psychological abuse, as well as other forms of mistreatment, could get free therapy, help, a home, but also as a learning center for poorer people and women, something that was unheard of at the time. Unfortunately, Helena faced many setbacks from radicals, extreme conservatives, and even assassination attempts out of fear of her becoming a symbol for progress for not just women, but the whole country.
The dream was never entirely feasible for Helena however, until the coronation of Großkaiserin Freya in March 1990, who endorsed the project and stationed armed guards around the construction site to protect against those who opposed Helena.
Unfortunately, Helena never lived to see the completion of her lifelong dream. She died in a terrorist attack July 7th, 1997, in Kaiserstadt. But her hopes and dreams lived on, and 3 years after her death, they have finally been realized as one of the most prestigious academies in the country.

Absolute President of Name 0 Dies in Plane Crash While En Route to Kemsania
Name 0 decides on acting president
Caur Sormouse Wins Name 0 Presidency

While on the way to a diplomatic meeting with Kemsania, the President of Name 0 Andas Hare died in a tragic plane crash. The crash occurred after the roof of the plane hit an unknown object, causing the plane to burn up and crash just minutes before it was about to land. 954 passengers were on board, while only a total of 513 people survived, including one crew member and the co-captain. 27 had survived with no injuries, 85 with minor injuries, 357 with moderate injuries, 44 with severe injuries, 1 with critical injuries who died soon afterwards, and 441 dead (10 crew members, the captain, and the President and 1st CEO), As a result, Egre International Airport shut down soon afterwards.

Meanwhile, the 2nd CEO of Name 0 Laine Blue, was proclaimed acting president of the new 21st Absolute Monarchist Republic, successfully continuing the diplomatic meeting with Kemsania. This was not to last, however, as elections were soon opened for the presidency. Caur Sormouse replaced Laine Blue as president, while Laine Blue is 1st CEO. Interestingly, Caur Sormouse's first act is to remove the famous Flowers of the Name 0 banner for the first time, replacing it with a dragon that symbolizes the coming Chinese New Year.
