The Guerrilla Revolution of Radicalania

Beginnings

Red Action were a group formed approximately 11 years Before Revolution in response to growing attrocities of the Ruling Party. Though the initial gatherings were undocumented for fear of reprecussions, all historical and last two survivng eyewitness sources agree that a small group of 6 were at the first meeting, where they initially planned on making and producing anti-state propoganda. This mixture of Anarchists and Communists quickly grew as propoganda was hand posted by the group to the ghettos.

Meetings quickly became overwhelming as the Working Class, fed up of their totalitarian government, started attending in secret. These meetings primarily focused on education, as The Party had neglected any reference to leftist history. Classes were taught outlining the basics in training for Autonomous Actions, codes and coding (which was especially difficult given how few computers were available to the Working Class). Arms were procured, either stolen from factories or made in secret, which alongside bombs (made from household produce ) were hidden throughout the countries outlawed rail system, which was used by activists to sneak between ghettos after cerfew.

Because many groups were infiltrated in the initial stages, and a great many were assasinated, a security culture developed. Secret passcodes became the norm on the streets in order to identify friend from foe. Radicalania's traditional handshake (a typical handshake with an extension of the index and middle fingers to the wrist) was actually formed in response to several codes being figured, and was possibly the greatest asset to the guerilla group in the beginning.

The First Strike

Other groups started meeting in secret too, and started working together with RA. The Independant Working Class (IWC) were one such group, which 8 years later led the first armed strike in conjunction with RA. Survivor of the original Red Action 6, Comrade Hunter Kiryu tells his tale:
"It was 2PM. We had come from different sectors of industry, and we'd all called in sick. Nothing suspicious about that, everyone got sick from some of those places. I was from the arms sector, Dylan, leader of the IWC was there too. We had 11 others because Micheal had been caught and shot in the streets the day before. 'Unlucky 13' we laughed at each other. We half thought we were in for a suicide mission. We were going to attack the arms factory, more a symbolic attack than everything. We were all there because of our lack of family- The Party's latest tactic in attacking us was to hit [kill] one of our family members for each act of insubordination, and by the gods was this one a big'n. Anyway, we took to the tunnels. Alex and Pablo were on the surface, mixing with the Workers approaching. We had people in the factory on the lines ready too. So we're in the tunnels and we hear a load noise above our heads. A rumbling, kinda like a tank. I nearly cr*pped myself to be honest. We keep going. We found the part of the subway that went just below the arms factory and we go up. 13 men and women emerge, and a guard spotted us. I froze, but a comrade behind me didn't. BANG BANG BANG! and that was him done for. The rest went quite quickly, we offed the rest of the guards, losing only 3 of ours. By the time the army rolled in- about 2 hours after we'd seized the factory- our job had been done. We vandalised and destroyed the machinary, took as many spares and repairs as we could, and lit the whole place on fire. Several folk came with us as we fled. For most of us, that was the last time we lived in mainstream society."

The life of a Red Action fighter was a life undercover. Forged Documents were a must, as quickly the military checkpoints around the cities sprang into action. The Party's informers too were a huge problem. "I remember the time my brother came home, a red band around his arm. I looked at him, suprised and said 'You look like a Nazi'. My brother laughed 'One more like that and I'll write you up, you know what that means'" reports Comrade Markus Bradfoe, on the topic of the night he fled the Capital.

Turning Tides

3 more hard years went by, fighting on the streets was commonplace. The Resistance was taking a heavy beating from the better armed Party Armed Forces. However, when a Military General turned an entire platoon around to start firing at Party officials, and surrendered his forces to the whims of the Resistance gains began to be made in the south. A Front was made, and they advanced, seizing everything they could lay their hands on. Party Officials were taken and shot. Informers would flee cities, making their way north at the hint of the approaching Resistance Army.

During the whole time, Red Action continued its work as educators of Anarchist and Communist theory. They did not want to see a new dictator replacing the old one. Many folk stayed behind in cities that had been taken over, distributing propoganda, but also working as doctors. Because of the Fascist nature of the Party, doctoring had been a neglected art, as workers were seen to be disposable. RA sought to change that, and emphasised everyones need to take care of the health of their neighbours. This was reflected on the front lines: every day less Resistance fighters would die from their wounds, many even making it back to fight another day.

The Struggle Behind Enemy Lines

The south was not the only battlefront. Even in one of the many Northern Party Strongholds, the resistance was not unheard of:
"I was beautiful when I was younger." Comrade Steffani Kinder reported. "This meant I could get away with murder when it came to those sexist pigs in The Party's forces. You could hit five places in a few hours if you were careful. I'll always remember this one time with total clarity. We walk in, take off our coats and waited for someone to buy us a drink. Sure enough, a general does. I had Vodka. Two ice cubes. He had Whiskey and a beer. We sit down with him and his allies, they're all laughing about how a small family hovel was blown up in search of a family of resitance. I realised that theywere talking about my family. They'd never been involved in anything political in their lives. Well, that was it. I smiled at the general, bent down and armed the bomb in my bag, got up and walked away. The bomb wasn't intended for him, we usually poisoned them and left that 'til last. I didn't care. As I left and got round the corner an explosion rang out." That night, a reported 300 Party officials were killed, and it was one month before several attacks like this forced Party Leader Leggett to surface and flee. This ultimately ended in the attack which claimed his life, and freed the folk of Radicalania.
