The People's Republic of Tanzaka is a huge, orderly nation, notable for its keen interest in outer space, parental licensing program, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 398 million Tanzakans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 60.6%.

The powerhouse Tanzakan economy, worth 38.2 trillion Rakzes a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Automobile Manufacturing, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 96,063 Rakzes, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 377,298 per year while the poor average 16,621, a ratio of 22.7 to 1.

Doctors are encouraged to 'pull the plug' any time the government has a budget crisis, grim instructresses lead the unwillingly impregnated in chants of "it's all my fault" and "blessed be the fruit", adult unemployment is rising as available jobs are filled by young children, and assault rifles sized for 7-year-olds are a frighteningly popular export. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tanzaka's national animal is the Marzor, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Tanzaka is ranked 49,610th in the world and 72nd in Concord for Most Subsidized Industry, scoring 3,967.03 on the Gilded Widget Scale.
