The Provisional Republic of Taurikland is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by General Max Broome with an iron fist, and renowned for its pith helmet sales, irreverence towards religion, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.006 billion Tauriks are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Industry, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Taurika. The average income tax rate is 68.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Taurik economy, worth 269 trillion bullnotes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Trout Farming, Uranium Mining, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 89,496 bullnotes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Houses and businesses are bulldozed to make way for ever-expanding cemeteries, both criminals and civilians are DOA, the "right of sanctuary" stops police pursuit into temples and churches, and workers' complaints never reach central planning. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Taurikland's national animal is the Taurik bull, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Taurikland is ranked 208,004th in the world and 7,749th in Osiris for Highest Disposable Incomes, with 28,012.54 Standard Monetary Units.
