Prime Minister and Cabinet
The leader of the political party that wins the most votes in the House of Commons becomes Prime Minister. He or she is sworn in by the Governor General, and tasked to form a government. The Prime Minister chooses members of the Cabinet. These are usually MPs (and sometimes Senators) who belong to the party in power. Those who head departments are called Ministers. By tradition a Prime Miniter selects at least one male and one female Cabinet Minister from each province. As Volaworand has grown and changed, the Cabinet has also grown and evolved, with ministries sometimes being renamed, added, dropped or reorganized. The Cabinet takes collective responsibility for government policies. It must, in public, agree with the Government’s decisions or resign.

Government Departments
Cabinet Members can head one or more Government Departments, and may appoint Secretary's for significant issues within each Department's area of responsibility. Currently Departments include Administration, Finance, Law & Order, Health, Welfare, Education, Defense, Science and Research, Commerce & Industry, Labour, Public Transport & Infrastructure, Environment, Fishing, Social Policy & Culture, Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs. The Prime Minister and Cabinet are free to create, merge or shutter government departments, subject to veto in Parliament.
