Walloonian Lywydd election, 2021

The 2021 Walloonian Lywydd election was the 12th quadrennial Presidential election in Walloonia, taking place on Saturday, the 4th of December 2021. The Libertarian ticket of Seth Pierce and Caitlyn Meredith won the election, making Pierce the first President to have never served in either the Senedd or Cyngor (cabinet) and making Meredith the first black Vice President. Pierce and Meredith began their terms on Saturday, the 1st of January 2022 at 12:00 PM.

Although the paths to party nomination was fairly straightforward for the other three major party candidates (Maegan Maddock and Owain Brys from the CLP; Dylain al Don and Arwyn Brodrick from the Progressive Democrats; and Heddwyn Cogan and Morwenna Brys from United), the Pierce-Meredith ticket won the nomination over a slew of other Libertarian candidates, such as Ioan Pearce (4th Lywydd) and Enfys Pembroke, who briefly came out of retirement to run for office before withdrawing and endorsing Pierce.
