The Provisional Republic of Lyanna is a militarily backed restoration of the Lyannan Republic. Before the collapse of the original Republican government, Abigail von Edler, the all powerful President, was locked in a death battle between her brother, Clemens von Edler, for control of the country. When the Oskarheim Kaiserrenreich fell, the death battle became the very thing that destroyed the nation. Abigail fled the capital city and took refuge in Saranien, a port city on the Tysemny. Clemens took the opportunity to rally an army of tens of thousands, and had himself proclaimed King. This proclamation set off a rebellion in the north of the country, leading him to leave the barely defended city of Saranien alone to deal with the more pressing threat. Using the last bit of her diplomatic abilities, Abigail courted the favor of the Vapian government, including the King of Vapia. The Vapian Military declared intervention on the Abigails side, and established a military government, which voted to restore and fully recognize Abigail as President, and declared Clemens a terrorist. Lyannan and Vapian joint forces joining together kicked off a new phase of the Lyannan Civil War, the Tri-War Phase.
