Welcome, welcome, welcome to "last weeks tonight"! I'm Orioni. Time now for a quick recap of the news.

Another grand duchy that gets featured: this first honour in 2019 goes to Kirvina. Their predecessor describes them as: "in the short time he's been here, he's proved quite capable I'd say, and it's nice of him to work on re-doing the climate map. The Grand Duchy is an inoffensive centrist democracy, and it shows in their top 25 rankings in Europa for: averageness (13th), trout fishing (17) and cheese exports (24). Now from a culinary point of view, trout with cheese is anything but average.
The Grand Duchy of Kirvina is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its compulsory military service and irreverence towards religion. The hard-working population of 245 million Kirvinans have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 12.2%.
The Kirvinan economy, worth 14.4 trillion Florins a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Cheese Exports, Gambling, and Retail. Average income is 58,585 Florins, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.2 times as much as the poorest.
The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller. Crime, especially youth-related, is well under control. Kirvina's national animal is the Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
3. Birthday. This January we'll celebrate our 15th birthday since the founding on NationStates. Yes: it's really been that long ago. We grew from an innocent and naive toddler into an annoying teenager hitting the end of puberty.
