History: The establishment of the International Strangereal Space Station (ISSS) is a major step forward in humanity's exploration of space. After Martantaka's historic moon landing, countries worldwide started focusing more on space exploration and technological advancement, which sparked global interest in space programs. Seeing the chance for joint scientific research and cooperation, the idea of an international space station open to all Strangereal nations gained support.

Following thorough discussions among global leaders, the decision was made to create the ISSS, a pioneering effort focused on promoting international collaboration and progressing scientific understanding in space. Countries worldwide have promised to back the effort by sending scientists and offering financial and material assistance.

Some years later, the initial module of the ISSS was launched into orbit by Martantaka, marking the beginning of construction efforts. Subsequent modules were launched by other participating nations and meticulously assembled in orbit, culminating in the completion of the station as we know it today.

Following the fall of the Federation of Martantaka, administrative responsibilities for the ISSS were transitioned to Triekru. The headquarters of the ISSS were relocated to Polis, the capital of Triekru, signaling a new chapter in the station's history under Triekru's leadership.

Today, the ISSS boasts a membership of [used to be 20):] member-nations, with others in the process of joining. This diverse coalition of nations demonstrates the collective commitment to space exploration and collaboration, as humanity continues to push the boundaries of knowledge and exploration beyond Earth's atmosphere.

Fields of Scientific Research:

Biology and Human Physiology: The ISSS provides a unique microgravity environment for studying the effects of space travel on biological organisms, including humans. Experiments conducted onboard explore topics such as muscle atrophy, bone density loss, cardiovascular health, and immune system function. Insights gained from these studies not only inform future space missions but also contribute to understanding human health on Earth.

Physics and Materials Science: In the weightless environment of space, researchers investigate the behavior of materials and fluids, uncovering phenomena that are impossible to replicate on Earth. Studies on crystallization, fluid dynamics, and combustion yield valuable insights into fundamental scientific principles and hold promise for developing new materials and technologies.

Astronomy and Astrophysics: The ISSS serves as an orbiting observatory, offering astronomers and astrophysicists a unique vantage point for studying celestial phenomena. Equipped with advanced telescopes and imaging instruments, the station observes distant galaxies, stars, and cosmic phenomena, shedding light on the origins and evolution of the universe.
