We will attempt to free the poor people who have been lied to and taken advantage of, by showing the truth and ridding the man behind it, their Pope.

How are starting populations decided in Valsora?

Hannah-Vine wrote:How are starting populations decided in Valsora?

Most of us just pretend that population doesn't matter.

Sivulika wrote:Just a general start and end date really.

Slavery and serfdom started about when it did for everyone else with the development of feudalism

Slavery was made illegal in 1818 but serfdom was still practiced until the 1930s, much like tsarsist Russia and was quite brutal in some places especially in Hevaria(the large island in between Pricas and Marmuk)

You make a map and then make up a number and ask everyone else “hey is this a good number”

the new mw2 was actually really good, the new mw3 sucks so badly im so glad i didnt waste my money on it

Made a new flag, pretty proud of it.

Part of the reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to write some thorough overview details about my nation, and population is becoming relevant even there. This isn't JUST for economics (which I am still a bit too interested in), but for ratios in my legislature. I'm designing a tricameral system including one house that I'm intending to be athenian-esque "chosen by lot". I was tempted to scale it equal to jury duty numbers or simply a "reasonable fraction", but then I wonder what that does or doesn't do as far as possibly making the chamber "unmanage-ably large" (if that's really a thing). I'm thinking now about making it a federal tiering system, but I'm not sure if there's a way to do that and maintain the spirit of the system.

Why do I feel like I've fallen off.

I was thinking for my government that we would have an electoral college from our different states, different congressional districts for every 20,000 people and a board of the 11 largest corporations that approves legislation created by the congress.

What brings you to the ratio of 20,000 people per congressional seat?

Repost:

So i had been planning to release this volume along with another one altogether, but since I wanted to celebrate the return of NS (and because this volume got extraordinarily long), I decided to just publish this one today. Also, I do not care what anime whatever song I use comes from, am still using it for my story purposes. Anyway, without further ado, Volume #007 is finally here! :D

get back on the grind

Hannah-Vine wrote:What brings you to the ratio of 20,000 people per congressional seat?

My population according to the valsora is 70 million, so I created 3500 seats so I just did 20,000. Also I’m gonna slant the electoral votes to more conservative states like New Texas and New Iowa

Hey people, remember the clean-plane I was making a few months ago?
I'm restarting that project again, though I still need a material that helps the planet but also powers the plane if anyone knows the material that fits the description it'd be greatly appreciated, and if people were to join in on this that'd be even more appreciated, thank you!

Just here is where I feel it. Not contributing as much as I used to.

Trying to make a ratio for representative to citizen depends a lot on just how large your country is it’s important not to oversize your legislature especially of your goal is to have equal representation across the entire political spectrum

Having a ratio to large/a huge population will result in one political party dominating and marginalizing the opposition (see India and Turkey)

The concept of using a random selection is novel I will say

India is still somewhat democratic right?

Krozland wrote:India is still somewhat democratic right?

It’s a democracy yeah but like I said an overly dominant political party marginalizes the opposition
