Welcome to this factbook! The Gojiran Self-defence force includes multiple separate branches that defend and fight for the Nation of Gojira. These include the Gojiran Army, The Naval Defence force, Areal self defence force, Ground Self-Defence Force, Home Guard Self Defence Force, and the Anti-Kaiju Self Defence Force. They are all controlled by the Ministry of Defence, Its Minister, The Royal Monarch, The Chancellor, and the chief of national defence.
The GSDF was first founded a couple decades after the independence of Gojira, as the GSDF was founded on April 19th, 1364. It was originally called "The Gojiran Armed Forces". It was later re-named into the "Gojiran Self Defence Forces" after becoming a neutrality during the mid 1800s (Gojira's currently an Armed Neutrality). The Current military size of the nation is 5,100,000. The National March of the GSDF is the "Heisei March". In this factbook, we will be breaking down each of the branches in this factbook. There are over 6 different branches of the entire GSDF.

GROUND FORCES NEWS HEADLINES -
1. The Special Ground Service Continues helping many people after the Great Verusan War, it now alongside the GSBS and GSAS now get involved in the increasing Kurzakstan civil war.
2. The GGMSDF now seeks interesting in getting guns from the Austro Germanic Unions Reichswher military. One of the main guns it wants is the Mars-500, it is not known if it will be a standardized assault riffle or just a non-standardized one. The rest of the GSDF also wants to supply electronics and oil to the AGU military.

Holy Era
During the 'Imperial Era' was when Gojira was a great empire, a federation of multiple Islands in Verusa. They used basic artillery, mainly also using horses and the large birds to ride on. Cavalry and other medieval era weapons were used during that time. The great Ophion Empire was founded on August 1st, 850. Lasting 476 years until December 3st, 1339. Causing the first civil war, which would last for 17 years.

Capabilities
So how much personnel does the GGSDF have? The Nation of Gojira has an official strength of personnel, but currently numbers around active personnel.
Due to the Flourishing era, (where money boomed, as technology got more advanced, and the population grew) starting from the 80s, it has caused the nation of Gojira to go from 99.6 million people to 120 million people in a span of 40 years. With the GMSDF's G-force company making the best technology for the country, the GGSDF is responsible for protecting all of the Gojira isles. Since the Nation is an archipelago of Islands, the Ministry of Defence mostly focused on Naval power for Gojira. The Air force is second, followed by the Ground Forces budget.
The Nation also has lots of natural resources, such as oil, food, and raw material. With the technology advancing Gojira could use more fossil fuels, oil deposits, and nuclear power. The Military is an important aspect of the Gojiran defence Policy. There are tons of regulations and plans if a foreign nation invading Gojira, manages to make Landfall on the Gojiran islands. The Military has a role for costal defence, and for defending the islands in case of an invasion. It has responsibility and priorities to respond when attacks on the Islands take place ( to recapture prepositioning of units, rapid deployment of units, and recapture of invaded islands). The GGSDF shall also response to attacks by ballistic missiles, guerrillas or special forces, and to secure surrounding waters and airspace.
The Gojiran Air force also has a role in the defence, providing air cover at sea. Though the Navy has its one fighter planes on Its Aircraft carriers and aerial technology as well. The Gojiran Navy, Air Force, and Ground Force all have intertwined roles to Defend the Gojiran Isles and to fight for other nations across StrangeReal.

Guns
Guns are an important weapon in the Ground Self Defence force. The different arms that a regular Gojiran civilian (yes Gojirans can buy weapons, hehe) or Gojiran soldier are a vast set of different weapons. These weapons can range from small arms, light weapons, etc. The arms that are in the Gojiran Ground Self Defence Forces are small arms, riffles (all infantry, long ranged, assault riffles, and submachine guns), shotguns, grenade launchers, and much more.

- Howa Type 89 Produced by the Greg machinery company, the type 89 is made as an assault rifle for the GGSDF. This gun was developed between 1989-1991, which is the reason to why it has 89 in it's name. It's often called "Greg" by Gojiran soldiers.

- Howa Type 20 This gun was also produced by the Greg machinery company, the type 89 is made as an assault rifle for the GGSDF. This gun is a more modern and updated version of the Type 89, although both guns are still in use in the GGSDF. It is currently a prototype, in it's early stages of development. Instead of the "Greg" nickname like it's older brother, this one is nicknamed "Johnathan".

- 577 Albertosaurus (Massive ass Rifle, re-named 577 Tyrannosaur) This is a massive a** rifle, with the main gun and cartridges being produced between the late 90s and late 2010s. This gun is named after the Albertosaurus, an apex species that ruled Gojira during the late Cretaceous. This gun was originally used for hunting sub-superfauna (sub-kaiju) near the end of the Kaiju Attack era. By the time it was made, it was re-purposed as a gun to use in the GGSDF. This gun is carried by experienced individuals, and people who can handle the recoil. This gun is nicknamed "Arnold" by Gojiran soldiers. |
- 4 Bore The 4 Bore is a gun that began being produced in the 1990s and early 2000s, it is still in use as of the 2030s. The 4 Bore is the largest rifle the GGSDF currently has (That soldiers can carry, and not have it mounted like the 959 JDJ). It was created by the Nojiwara workship, which is located at Los Baguinda. The barrel lengths of this gun can vary between from 36" to 42". The weight is from to 20lb depending on the cartridge weight which can be 3 1/2. This gun is nicknamed "The Marston", after it's creator Andrea Marston. |
- 959 JDJ Riffle Fat Mac This, is the largest monster gun of the monster guns in the GGSDF. 950 JDJ Rifle is known as being "the largest sporting rifle made." It was developed by Peter Simons, president of Millano corp. It normally would be classified as a "Really Godamn destructive device" (quote from Peter himself) due to the rifle's groove diameter of .950 inches. However Millano corp was given a "Sporting Use Exception" in order to deregulate the rifle. Due to its heavy weight and massive recoil, it can only be shot from a bench rest or heavy bipod. These guns are usually a part of the Gojiran Paratroopers, Gojiran Special Ground Service, etc. This gun is nicknamed "Big Billy Bob" By Great Verusan War veterans.

Melee based Weapons
For a long time in Gojiran history, martial arts and styles of sword fighting have been a major part of Gojiran culture. It is still used today, and people do learn it. Melee weapons aren't really focused in the modern day military, but it's still somewhat used. For example, for ceremonial reasons for the Gojiran Home Guard. Swords and daggers are used by special force divisions of the GGSDF, these are the list of weapons that the GGSDF uses in this area (Not including royal guard ones).

The Goriran Regiments
The Goriran Regiments, these regiments are a part of the GGSDF (Gojiran Ground Self Defence Forces). These regiments cary the historical spirit of Gorira, a larger nation that united with Kujira and the other 4 kingdoms to make Gojira (OOC: Kujira + Gorira = Gojira, :3). They wear uniforms that represent their people, and serve important roles in the GGSDF and the GSDF in general. Their roles are mainly infantry, and have fought in numerous wars. That includes the most recent ones, such as the Great Verusan War, and the current Kurzak Civil War Crisis.
They are a large Goriran regiment (Also known as GGR) bound by our unified purpose to deliver a modern infantry fighting capabilities for Gojira and its Defence capability for Gojira, and its Defence requirements around the world. There are multiple battalions that make up the GGR's. Each of their Regular battalions have specialist operational roles whether fighting on foot or mounted on the Army’s latest armoured vehicles.
The GGR's mainly consist of people with Goriran decent. However, other people that don't have Goriran descent can join the GGR's (basically anyone who's in the GSDF). These Regiment's are a disciplined, resilient and professional team with an unrelenting focus on the pursuit of excellence. A team that has the humility to learn from each other and other people.
