This is a brief 'Shwmae' from an old Comrade from the distant SLU past.

A previous Immigration Minister back in the early day, it's great to see that the SLU lives on!

Reading about the great coup of December 2020 was incredible!

I must salute you all for continuing through the 10th anniversary of the founding into a new decade and for the excellent Library of Parliament for that 'institutional memory'.

Kind Regards to you all! Cemaes

Welcome back, Cemaes, nice to see you!

Always nice to see a member of the SLU Old Guard come back through. Fair but Firm has been a long-standing policy and there isn't a time I don't think back to the manual TG recruitment of old. Hope you're doing well!

as for N-Day, our region supports Anime Nations Against Liberals (ANAL) and has for the last few years i believe. i'd recommend joining ANAL's server and coordinating with them; N-Day is not region-based but is instead Faction-based

Was that faction name a coincidence or planned?

Hey, this is The Vooperian Union on an alt. Despite being embassies with you (In the anarchy region) I am unable to post here. Any reasons why this might be? I just wanted to check in and say Hi. I even brought cookies! (::)(::)

Statement from the World Assembly Delegate on vote AGAINST Security Council proposal "A Celebration of Exceptional Rarity"

Comrades,

I have voted AGAINST the current proposal at vote before the Security Council (page=sc), "A Celebration of Exceptional Rarity." Currently, the vote amongst SLU members is 11 in favor and two (including myself) against. As such, the Constitution requires that I explain why my vote differs from present regional majority opinion.

In short, it is my strong opinion that the Security Council is not the proper venue for this proposal. The mission of the Security Council is to "spread interregional peace and goodwill, via force if necessary" and to "recognize and respond to individual nations and regions, with the aim of ensuring global harmony;" to this end, the Security Council commends and condemns nations which contribute to global peace dynamics and liberates regions deemed to be under unjust occupation. What purpose does a resolution which encourages nations to engage in a "Leap Day Jig" once every 4 years have before the Security Council? No purpose whatsoever. For this reason I have cast my vote AGAINST the proposal.

It surprises me how well run a region of this size is.

I recommend to vote against "Promoting Ethnic and Cultural Equality". This resolution qualifies "Systematic or otherwise intentional and statistically disproportionate violence perpetrated against a group" as genocide. However, not each of such acts is genocide as we commonly understand it.

If you would like to join the discord, you can spend more time over there with that side of the community!

I got here. That's what happened.

genocide doesnt just mean the mass killing of a group, it can also mean violence or expulsion from their homelands, more recently (but much less talked about sadly) is a group in northern burma (i forgot the name) who got chased out mostly into bangladesh. Genocide against a group is any kind of damage to them or their culture/way of living on a very large scale by governments or other groups
