On an unrelated note: Greetings TSP, how do I remove socialism.

Edit: Got out socialism of my obviously capitalistic nation, yippe! :]

you dont remove socialism, socialism removes you

Sooooo true. :very_sad!1!1!1:

Chillicothe News Network:The House of Commons has passed a constitutional amendment that would protect abortion. The amendment passed 799-236. The amendment heads to the Senate where it needs 67 votes.

Tensions are increasing between President Leñero and the Congressional opposition over Leñero’s proposed judiciary reforms which would allow the President to appoint an independent judiciary review board to remove corrupt judges. The Social Christian Party is going as far as calling for Leñero’s immediate arrest, arguing the reforms border on treason and an abuse of presidential authority. The Social Christian Party had played a role in the coup which removed Leñero’s father from the Presidency in 1981.

I wish we could change names of our Nationstates.

So I'm watching a history channel episode on if the ark of the covenant made it to arizona to be the site of a new jerusalem.

Is it just me, or does Arizona look like the place where Evangelicals live?

Yes, they can

“The game code uses a nation's name as its ID, an unfortunate design decision that we are stuck with. Renaming a nation would break all references to it in regions, player Dossiers, the WA, etc.”

This dispatch was originally sent as a Regional Telegram on April 7th, 2024:

Greetings, my fellow South Pacificans!

It has been 11 days since my last Fortnightly Briefing! Our region has had several noteworthy events since then! Now, without further ado, it is time for another fortnightly briefing!

~~~~
First: Prime Minister Drew Durrnil resigned yesterday in an unexpected yet logical move in response to an Assembly motion to recall him.
A recall motion was made by a Legislator of the Assembly, HumanSanity, after several instances of the Prime Minister not being responsive to questions asked by legislators. Other aspects of the recall motion included a lack of active direction being given to the Cabinet and resistance to hiring an OWL Director who could handle World Assembly matters. The recall motion was at vote when the Prime Minister announced their resignation. The vote has since been canceled. The Council on Regional Security is tasked with appointing a caretaker (interim) Prime Minister to handle the day-to-day running of the region with the remainder of the Cabinet. Their appointment has not yet been made, but it should soon.
The resignation of the Prime Minister automatically triggered a special election for the position, so all citizens of the South Pacific are currently engaged in the beginning stages of the election: the nomination process. We will wait and see who emerges from this stage and goes into campaigning, then voting, and, ultimately, our next Prime Minister. Also, whoever wins the Prime Minister election will serve until August since the next regular election (which was scheduled to begin next week) was canceled due to the timing of the resignation. I encourage you all to ask questions of your Prime Minister candidates so that we can emerge from the election and hit the ground running again!
You can review the recall motion here: https://thesouthpacific.org/t/2415-mr-motion-to-recall-the-pm/5427
You can review the resignation announcement here: https://thesouthpacific.org/t/resignation-as-pm/5451
Second: The proscriptions that were issued by the Prime Minister and Council on Regional Security took effect early last week.
Under the Proscription Act, since these are full proscriptions, any nation affiliated with any of the listed regions/organizations was banned from all areas under the jurisdiction of the South Pacific, including the forums, regional Discord server, and in-game region. Siberian Districts was one such member, and as such, the High Court is expected to dismiss their pending case, [2403.HR] Review of the Rejection of Siberian Districts’ Citizenship Application due to their lack of standing. A dismissal will come by the next fortnightly briefing. (I feel like a broken record saying that the case will be resolved by the next briefing, but this time, I am confident that I am correct.)
Third: In a bit of not really ;) April Fool's Day shenanigans, your Most Benevolent Cakeness, the Mother and Delegate of the South Pacific added a new title to their list of honorifics: Emperor.
The pomp and circumstance of the event saw me stride into the Assembly and proclaim myself Emperor of the South Pacific. My first decree was to execute all pie supporters because they were traitors to the Coalition for their despicable choice of desserts. Long live the Emperor!
You can read the report of the event here: https://thesouthpacific.org/t/the-emperors-decree/5423
Fourth: In what is essentially a repeat in this fortnightly briefing... With all this talk of regional security, proscriptions, and elections, this is just a friendly reminder to endorse me, Ebonhand, as well as all the other members of the Coral Guard!
For your troubles: 🍰
page=dispatch/id=1398091
Fifth: Everyone be sure to check the regional polls! Our Minister of On-Site Events (MOOSE) is currently going through our final SwanVison contestants!!!
No, seriously. Check the poll; here is some cake to do it: 🍰
Sixth: This one is Out Of Character (OOC), but if you are living in North America, have fun watching the total solar eclipse!
This majestic event is rare and will not happen again for many people in North America for several decades! I happen to live along the path of totality, but unfortunately, I will likely be graced by clouds and rain; at least it will turn into nighttime for a few minutes! Be safe if you have or are traveling for it, and remember not to look directly into the sun!
~~~~

That is all for this fortnightly update! For making it to the end of this Telegram, you all get the traditional end-of-update slice of cake! 🍰🍰

I look forward to updating you all again in a Fortnight and talking with you all in the interim! Remember, my Telegram box is open to those who want to talk!

Always and eternally yours,

Ebonhand/Griffindor

His Most Benevolent Cakeness, the Emperor, Mother, and Delegate of the South Pacific

"1. The Concrete Slab: A homage to the importance of the concrete that makes up the very foundation of many wonders across the world, this gray, lifeless, and seemingly endless piece of rock is livened up by a renowned 24/7 song contest. Each contestant has already won far too many times, but the legendary singers who have lost their vocal cords are enshrined within the rock forever, watching over the eternal flame that appears as the one spot of focus on a slab so excessively large that just it has to make the top of the list. Seriously, everyone is either talking about this thing or pouring concrete."

Why would i be offended, it's awesome

Delthorensdale wrote:Yeah… I feel a little bad about not contributing to the slab, but I really wanted to accomplish something on my own. If you hadn’t gotten #1 I would feel so guilty rn ;-;
But hey, TSP being home to two of the Seven Wonders ain’t bad! :3

Yeah you really brought that home for us as well! Well done!!!!!

Damn, Nick Wilkins is a professional upstairs neighbor (he's the legend that tried the period simulator more than once)
