Imperial Custadian Army Formations

The Imperial Custadian Army consists of the regular force and the reserve force. A great many personnel are employed as administration, etc.

The regular force, forty million strong, is made up of professional, full-time soldiers. It is composed of 25 armies, each containing 24 divisions: twelve of these divisions are armoured/mechanised (containing hybrid armoured and mechanised infantry brigades and their support), the other twelve are motorised infantry (containing motorised infantry brigades and their support). In these armies, the armoured/mechanised divisions act as breakthrough units and the motorised infantry act to prevent the army from being surrounded and to engage softer objectives. Within each army, some divisions are given specialist training such as mountain warfare. The 30 divisions of paratroopers are even more specialist, and are separate from the rest.

The reserve force is made up of a further thirty million part-time volunteers and conscripts. It consists of 19 armies, but each of these armies consists only of 24 motorised divisions. These armies are typically used only to hold the line or to achieve softer objectives.
