Mariyana (Maryan: Amiryana) or The United Federation Of Mariyana (Maryan: Das Vernied Federajsion Of Amiryana) is the world's largest archipelago nation and a trans-continental Federation located right where the Indian Ocean meets the Pacific Ocean on the continent of Australia and Asia. The country is divided into 3 regions and 25 states, six of which have special governmental statuses, with the capital city Kanhcaster located on South Eastern Australia, and the most populous city Stadt Der Sterne located also in Australia, more specifically Queensland.

The largest cities after Stadt Der Sterne are Sydney, Melborne, Perth located on Australia, Auckland in Zealandia, and Makassar in Sulawesi. Largest Airports are the Kanhcaster's Unity International Airport, Stadt Der Sterne's Hartman's Int. Airport, Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport, and Sydney's International Airport.

The Federation Of Mariyana comprises of 25 states with 5 special ones.

The History Of Mariyana is divided into 8 large periods/eras, those are

Prehistoric, earliest humans recorded on what is now modern day Nusantara;

Pre-Colonial Period, Formations of the first kingdoms and empires formed, one of which is the Han'ei Dynasty (Das Haneiyah Disnati) which is one of the biggest nations in Mariyanan history;

Early Modern Era, Kingdoms in the lands of Mariyana began their conquest for land, power, and influence including Han'ei Dynasty which reached its peak in 1526;

Colonization Period, European powers such as the German Empire and British Empire colonize Mariyana to which it gains independence after WWI

World Wars, Mariyana makes some reformations and joins WW2 on the Allies side on the Pacific theatre and battles the Japanese Empire;

Cold War, A Civil War breaks out and Mariyana is taken over by Western Indonesia and the USSR in 2015 and becomes communist state;

The Great Revolution and Nation Reconstructing Era, A revolution arises which lasted around 4 years and 8 months. The revolutionists won and began reconstructing the nation;

Present, The Present Day Mariyana;

Economy wise, the Mariyanan economy is a very strong one with a GDP of 50 Trillion and a GDP per capita of around 92 thousand Solaries, it has a very diverse income sources with the largest are Arms Manufacturing, Tourism, and Trading making up a large percentage of Mariyana's economy.

Civillians in Mariyana are free being of the most free nations in the world and it has many rights no matter ethnicity, religion or race. It's ideology, the Constitutional Federal Republic grants democracy, freedom, and autonomy for its citizens and states.

Mariyana is also apart of the G30 so they know how to manage international relations. The US, United Kingdom, Germany and Canada beings its largest western supporters since World War 2 with the United States, Canada, Western Indonesia and Japan being Mariyana's biggest trading partners and them playing huge roles in Mariyana's World War 2 battles and the revolution. The United Kingdom and Germany still hold close ties with Mariyana despite colonial times, they also have one of the largest populations of Mariyanan's outside of Mariyana at around 4.5 million in the UK and 2 million in Germany.

South Africa and Egypt having pretty similar colonial histories being close business partners with Mariyana. Japan and Western Indonesia being Mariyana's closes Allies in Asia despite when Japan fought with Mariyana during the second world war, causing heavy casualties and Western Indonesia invading them, in spite of everything Japan and Western Indonesia are Mariyana's largest exporters and business and security partners.

In conclusion, Mariyana is a very diverse and wealthy nation with a rich history and large economy, sometimes they have some issues here and there but at the end of the day Mariyana prospers and flourishes together as one under a single flag.

Also it's formation day (20-9-1920) is named "Nation Day" and the independence day from the SUSCR (31-6-2051) is called "Liberation Day".

Etymology
The name Mariyana (Ma-ri-ya-nah) is derived from the Portuguese word "Mariana" infused with the ancient Siaruh language "Amiryanah" that both roughly translates into "Star Of The Sea" and "Islands of the Sun" respectively. The name "Mariyana" was later adopted when the nation was formed after World War 1 following Germany's surrender. Portugese explorers initially landed on Timor Island and the surrounding lands hours before the German Empire and The British Empire. They then established Portuguese Timor but was later sold to Germany in their conquest of colonialism.

Prehistory

The History of Mariyana began in 1203 AD when the Austronesians first landed in the Caroline Islands and set camp there, after a short while some of the Austronesians left the island to explore the pacific, eventually when they get back they sorta had a quarrel about the leadership and ownership of the islands, so they splitted into several dozen factions or kingdoms. Early Kingdoms

After the Austronesians split into different nations there were many kingdoms that had the strongest military in that region, the most notable ones are The Y'nara Kingdom, The Empire Of Gouam, The Han'ei Dynasty, and many more. The biggest and most powerful being the Han'ei Dynasty 2/3rds of modern day Australia because they had the most powerful forces in that area and was casually overrunning smaller kingdoms with their superior numbers. Expansionist Age

The Han'ei Kingdom wanted to take control of the entire Australian continent but failed to do so, mainly because the troops were tired and because the last kingdoms on the Australian continent formed a defensive alliance. Meanwhile in the Nusantara region there is a bloody war going on between the Second Kingdom Of Skasau and the Kingdom Of Nosotariah.

Battle Of Java
The cause of this war was because of several border clashes and the fact they did not like eachother. During the war many lives was lost because of the indiscriminate attacks. The Republic Of Nosotariah with it's superior numbers manages to overwhelm and annex the Second Kingdom Of Elrysia later became the Kingdom Of Majapahit, the KOM (Kingdom Of Majapahit) and continued their expansion to the eastern part of the Malayan Archipelago.

Fall Of The Han'ei Dynasty
over down in Australia, the Han'ei Dynasty collapsed mainly because the ruler of Srevia, a kingdom puppeted by the Han'ei Dynasty protested about the Han'ei Dynasty's expansion but the Han'ei Dynasty ignores and continues its expansion, several regions within the Han'ei Dynasty heard about this and wanted to be independent themselves instead of being ruled by a foreign empire. so, the Republic Of Srevia and a few other nations started a revolution, attacking core cities of the Han'ei Dynasty.

The ruler of the Han'ei Dynasty, King Kchoromupa, was furious about the news and sends calvaries, knights, and archers to counter attack the revolution, little did they know the army sent by the king was ambushed and captured by the rebels. Eventually after months of fighting King Kchoromupa decided to step down and dissolved the Han'ei Dynasty

Colonization Period

In 1889 European powers such as the German Empire and the British Empire launches a policy of colonial expansion in the Pacific Ocean they first landed in what is now today Port Moresby and Cape York peninsula respectively. They continued exploring the Pacific and expanding. Then, British warships are confronted by a German cruiser while trying to land in New Guinea. At first the British warships thought they were other British warships by flashing lights in morse code.

A few moments later, the rangefinder quickly alerts the crew that it is a German war vessel, which at the time the British and German weren't good on diplomatic relations mainly due because of loss of some territories in other parts of the world. So, the commander orders to fire to the German vessel, the German vessel realized that there was a British warship firing at them, but it was too late. Multiple high explosive rounds were fired at the German cruiser, the vessel trying to make a last ditch attempt to save its crew decides to beach and call reinforcements

Torres Strait Clash
After the first German cruiser beached the reinforcements, another 2 cruisers arrived and quickly spot the British warship, however the British warship, is accompanied by 2 other ships, a scout class ship and a defender class warship. The German spots the warships and fires towards it's main gun and deck so the British warships couldn't fight back, ultimately, the British warships decides to retreat as its main guns were broken and equipment heavily damaged.

The German warships then celebrate in victory as the British retreat, however ,the British returned to retake the islands but it was too late as the Germans already set up multiple camps and fortresses there. The Germans then went on to set up mines and recruit new soldiers in their newly won colony, other than that the Germans didn't really care about exploring Mariyana because it was deemed unnecessary. So much of Mariyana was either nameless or had placeholder names until the British won WW1 and was in charge of naming and fully mapping out Mariyana's landmarks.

After that, the German Empire went on to a colonize rampage and seized all pacific islands until New Guinea, the Germans later established 2 massive colonies. The Northen Pacific Islands became "Deutsch Weltstern" (Weltstern=World Star). And Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand "Deutsch Südlichesland" (Südlichesland=South Lands).

World Wars

World War 1
On 28th Of July 1914, World War One or the Great War begun. The ruler or Governor of the Two Colonies, König Noewaldz Krötten, decides to send around 280k infantry in the war effort, at the time the two colonies only had around ~225 million people. This proves to be really helpful as Marianans helped out on attacking, strategizing, and defending. When the war was raging The United Kingdom rolled out a fear machine, the first ever tank, nicknamed "Big Willie" was deployed into the Northern parts of France.

The Tripartite Pack was was stunned, German researchers think fast of a way to destroy this metal beast. Germans finally made the first ever anti 'tank' explosive, this proves to be effective while combating Big Willie. In the Pacific the Allies launches an attack on the Two Colonies, the Two Colonies being the largest German colony in the Pacific is being attacked by the United States, Japan, And the British Empire. The Two Colonies puts up a fierce fight but fails and the Two Colonies is dismantled and divided among the victors.

After it's divison, after weeks of talking it is then united and organized into a single nation directed by the British Empire under the name "Mariyana" and the capital designated on Kanhcaster. Mining and Agricultural industries skyrocket because of the fertile and rich in mineral lands. The nation also is even admitted to the new League Of Nations.

The Great Depression
The Mariyanan economy is hit hard by the great depression. almost a quarter of its population is made unemployed and poverty increasing by the day. The current government scrambles to find a solution but it's held responsible for the crash, fueling the rise of untrust and individualism. Then on the 10th of January 1942, The Empire Of Japan, allied to Germany and the Kingdom of Italy, invades South East Asia and is now planning on invading Mariyana. Japan sends an ultimatum to Mariyana demanding to surrender, but when Mariyana refuses Japan declares war.

WW2 HISTORY SECTION UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE AND A REVAMP

World War 2

Japanese-Mariyanan War
But Japan faces great resistance than expected, thanks to help of aid coming from the US and Canada. Despite Japan's numerical superiority, Japan struggles to win against the fewer Mariyanan forces. Japan then focuses on launching strategic attacks on ships and aircraft aiding Mariyana and military bases to weaken Mariyana's military power. This proves to be an effective strategy as the borders in Papua and Australia is pushed back. Then, on 5th of October 1942, Japan sinks a Mariyanan commercial ship travelling in the Tasman Sea and causes 286 deaths, which does not got unnoticed by the Allies.

Japan then continues on launching attacks on military bases and cities which are devastated by the bombings. In retaliation, Mariyana launches heavy bombings on Japanese bases and lighter bombings on cities in the following days. The battle takes a new turn, both nations begin targeting bases and cities. Despite Kanhcaster being regulary bombed each day, Japan does not succeed in dominating the war. in Australia, Mariyana launches a counter attack, pushing back Japan until Lake Carnegie.

Japan, after 2 weeks of fighting, manages to control the island of Papua and push back Mariyanan forces to Adelaide and the Solomon Islands. To support Mariyana, the Allies then open up a supply route via New Zealand and the Pacific. In Australia, Japanese forces are slowed down due to the Great Victoria Desert's heat and the absence of roads. In addition, the Japanese underestimate the Mariyanan forces, which are fueled by patriotism to defend their nation. Despite heavy losses, Mariyana regenerates faster than Japan with the arrival of new allied troops coming from the Southeast.

A new front is created at Kanhcaster, after which temperatures rises to 28.5 degrees Celsius (83.3 F*). Badly trained and equipped, Japanese soldiers are exhausted and tanks overheating, Mariyana takes advantage, and launches multiple surprise and counter attacks which pushes back the frontlines. an estimated 36% of Japan's army found themselves stuck in attrition warfare. To counter Japan's expansion and rise in their military power, the US imposes an embargo on oil and steel.

Essential resources for Japan's army and industry. in retaliation, Japan launches a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The offensive is successful and Mariyanan supplies is delayed for the time being. However, they did not strike oil reserves and ship repairing buildings. Japan takes advantage of the delay in supplies and pushes back the frontline to Lake Machattie. In occupied territories in Japan, pockets of resistance organize, in the occupied Mariyanan territories in Indonesia and Australia, militias launch guerrilla warfare against the invaders.

In the Pacific, Japan, with the help of imported German submarines called U-Boats attempt to sabotage and blockade Mariyana by sinking supply and aid ships that supply Mariyana. The operation was unsuccessful because of superior allied warships and anti submarine weaponry. After a few years, the US is now finally ready to combat Japan. They begin by sending M4A4 105mm Sherman tanks to help the British-Mariyanan Stuarts, Matildas and Mariyanan Sentinel Is. In two months two decisive battles at Midway and Wake Island, won by the US put a stop on Japanese expansion in the North Pacific.

Mariyanan and British Forces, with the United States in the lead launches a counter attack, the objective being to kick the Japanese out of Australia, then moving from island to island all the way to Japan. In addition, the United States uses its large and powerful navy to sink transport ships and to take down the Japanese Airforce. Mariyana firsts wants to weaken and demoralize Japan by launching bombings on Japanese naval ports, military bases, and factories.

Then, in June 1943, the Mariyanans with the help of the US launches a massive offensive, pushing the Japanese by 456 kilometers to the greener and more lush parts of Australia. Eventually after 3 months of fighting, Mariyana successfully splits the Japanese forces into three and surrounding the Japanese occupied cities of Perth, Karratha, and Darwin. Meanwile in the captured cities of the East Indies had been led to believe that the Allies were their enemies, and had received papers from Japanese propaganda stating so. The Mariyanan forces, however, were not going to sit idly by and let this misinformation continue. They decided to send their own papers to the occupied cities, advising the Indonesian people that the Japanese were the true enemy, and that they should rise up against them and support the Allies.

Meanwhile, American and Mariyanan warships are met with Japanese attack fleets in the Solomon Islands. American SBDs "Dauntless' " and Mariyanan Boomerang Mark IIIs, supported by American anti-aircraft cruisers and destroyers, clashed with Japanese Zeros and Ki-100s in a fierce air battle who were also supported by their own anti-aircraft vessels. The Allies' numerical superiority gave them the upper hand, as shells pummelled battleships and destroyers on both sides. With the Japanese's morale already weakened by the defeat in Australia, the Japanese fleet was unable to withstand the Allied onslaught, and they were forced to retreat, leaving behind a trail of damaged ships and downed aircraft in the raging seas.

After months of back and forth fighting, Mariyana manages to take the upper hand and successfully liberated Perth and Karratha. Not long after, the city of Darwin is also liberated. US and Mariyanan forces now focus on liberating the Malay Archipelago, they first sent their navies to blockade Japanese supply and reinforcement ships from reaching the Malay Archipelago. Then they first landed on Java and work their way to Jakarta. But due to the dense trees of Java it made it difficult to detect enemies who were hiding in the trees with camouflage. Despite that they manage to make their way to Surakarta with the help of various armored vehicles.

Upon reaching Papua, the Mariyanan Forces were met with fierce resistance from the Japanese defenders, who put up a great defense. Caught off guard by the intensity of the Japanese response, the Allied Forces were forced to withdraw to the Cape York Peninsula, leaving behind a quarter of their tanks. The Japanese seized these tanks and used them in future battles.

Meanwhile in Java, the American divisions were having a difficult time trying to liberate Jogjakarta as it was heavily fortified. Many offensives and counter attacks was done on the city but it was too well fortified as the Japanese already knew about the coming Allied attack. During this an American recon tank division found a blind spot in the city and managed to get behind enemy frontlines. The Japanese forces realized they were getting flanked, so they send half of their troops to deal with the counter attack, however this made the frontlines of the city weaker. And the following day, American forces then executed a large offensive and managed to break the frontlines and liberate Jogjakarta. After a few months, it has been liberated.

Finally, an ultimatum is issued to Japan, demanding its unconditional surrender, Japan ignores the ultimatum. The country is heavily bombed by the United States and Mariyana for several months, more than 50 large industrial cities had already been devastated. The United States then drops 2 atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In the North, the USSR begins to invade Manchuko, Southern Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands, finally Japan surrenders. The country would be occupied by the United States until 1954. In the Korean Peninsula, the USSR and the US agree on a provisional division of Korea. Finally in South East Asia, Mariyana and the Netherlands both would jointly occupy Western Indonesia and Eastern Indonesia respectively, and the colonies in mainland south east asia are also returned to their former rulers.

Aftermath
Colonial empires worldwide are weakened as more independence movements gain momentum and support, caused by involvements in war and high death casualties. World War 2 is the deadliest war to Mariyana, with an estimated of almost 4 million deaths, 1 million of which are civilians. almost three fourths million tonnes of bombs were used, razing infrastructures and the lands around it. Many cities on both sides were destroyed, caused by heavy bombings. During the aftermath, Mariyana then would join many newly founded organizations, such as the IMF, United Nations, Union of Pacific Nations (UPN) and many more in a global effort to heal the world from the war.

Mariyana also gained it's first ever Jet machine from the US that was stripped away from a German Messerschmitt Me 262. Mariyana then questions why it did not receive one during the war and the reason is the US is afraid of shipping the jet engine as Japanese ships often capture and sink American supply, and they were afraid the Japenese might get a hold of the jet engine. The Government then decides to hold a aircraft competition to give the jet engine to a company. Ultimately, Airmann wins and receives the jet engine. Then on 12th July 1947, Airmann produced the first ever Mariyanan Fighter Jet. The Am-1S, nicknamed "Falcon".

Cold War
We resume in 1948, just after three years of World War 2. And the world plunges into another war, the Cold War. After the war, Mariyana begins to rapidly modernize it's nation economy and military to a more self sustaining one and not depending on its allies. In Europe, tensions rise between the United States and the Soviet Union, also known as the USSR. With nothing in common and the Tripartite Pact defeated, they now focus on increasing their influence around the world with their respective ideologies.

Both superpowers increase their presence in Europe, this causes an iron curtain from the borders of Germany all the way to the Greece-Bulgarian border. Along the borders were stone walls guarded by soldiers from each side. In Asia, the only thing that was similar to the iron curtain was the border between North and South Korea both under the influence of the USSR and America respectively. Also called the 38th parallel, it is the most heavily guarded border in the world.

Then on June 25th 1950, North Korean soldiers marched through the DMZ with a spearhead of 155 T-34-85s a many infantry. This was the start of the Korean War. During this Mariyana was busy developing new tanks of it's own.

During the peak of the Cold War. The USSR had not yet fallen but managed in 1990 to stabilize and not collapse into the modern former soviet states we know today. in Mariyana, tensions rise as the nation is on the brink of a civil war, with the cause being communist expansion to Eastern Asia. the Koreas, Indonesia, and the rest of East Asia falling into communism. Except Japan and Mariyana which refused to let communism reign in their nation. But that is about to change.

Tensions Rise
In the occupied now integrated Eastern Part of Indonesia, tensions rise as Western Indonesia becomes communist, tons of Indonesian refugees, who refused to live in a communist Indonesia start to migrate into the more democratic side of Indonesia, which is still under Mariyanan control. East Indonesia's goal is to unite Indonesia the hard way. The President at the time, President Carl Benedictio, was trying to de-escalate the the situation but it was not enough to stop the situation from escalating.

Due to rising tensions, the United States and NATO are sending aid and supplies, in case of a war breaking out. Mariyana then starts constructing public bunkers for the war, then the US proposes a military research program to help eachother during WW3. This massively improves the Mariyanan Armed Forces as newer generation vehicles and weapons replaced the old ones. Then finally the USSR and her allies declares war on Japan, with Japan's allies quickly respond with declaring war on the USSR.

World War 3
In the Sea of Japan or East Sea, Soviet warships approach the island of Japan, Japan responding quickly sends their fleet to go fight the threat. In Mariyana, Soviet and East Indonesian troops invade Nusa Tenggara and Sulawesi. The Mariyanan Government then issued all civillians to retreat to their nearest public bunker, some chose to surrender to the enemy, some chose to go to the bunkers. In Papua, the Mariyanan fleet is having a difficult time trying to repel enemy fighter jets

Then suddenly, Soviet and East Indonesian troops launch a surprise attack on the city of Darwin, trying to make their way to the capital of Mariyana, Kanhcaster, but they have to cross a large desert to complete the attack. Soviet troops tried to land in Kanhcaster head on, but they were met with bullets and shells as the capital is heavily fortified with AA, Tanks, and Fighter Jets. but the capital had a huge weakspot that borders the desert. The Mariyanan Armed Forces thought the area was already well defended thanks to its geography and the huge arid desert.

In Indonesia, Western and Papua New Guinea falls, tons of soilder now make their way to Cairns, posing another threat to Kanhcaster. In a span of 8 months, Soviet and Eastern Indonesian soilders made their way through the hot desert and setting their sights on Kanhcaster. The Mariyanan government at the time caught wind of the invasion and quickly sends troops, the government also urges its allies to make a new front on Papua New Guinea.

Back to Australia, Mariyana counter attacks by launching an offensive that pushed back the soviets by 90 kilometers. Over in Perth, Allied soilders managed to land and begin driving out soviet troops. with the soviet pushed back by 300km, it was looking grim for the soviet side, however, they failed to realise the number of the soviet troops. Mariyana soilders also were poorly trained as they were in WW2 and constantly relying on heavy machinery. The Allied front now is slowly but surely pushed back over the coming weeks. A few months later, the Allied front was lost due to a shortage of ammunition and soilders, caused by Soviet blockades and the long route.

Fall of Kanhcaster
The Allied Forces fiercely defends the capital but they were met with heavy bombardment and artillery strikes. Some brave Allied Forces tried to push outwards to the desert, but they failed. after 2 months of delay, the war resumes and Kanhcaster is attacked heavily. Allied Forces tries to counter attack again but failed and Kanhcaster capitulates. Allied soilders managed to escaped via the port of Kanhcaster before the city was swiftly overtaken by communist forces.

The nation surrenders and the government was replaced buy a communist regime and some 40% of its territories are annexed by surrounding states.

Afterwar
In 2039, after the Mariyanan front was lost, World War 3 finally ended with a tie with the Allied Coalition seizing the Koreas, the Moscow Pact taking over Mariyana, and the stalemate in the European front. Finally, in Mariyana the new government realizes that Mariyana lacks well trained soilders and outdated military ordnances. The Communism government then decides to re-militarize the nation by developing advanced military ordnance, such as sixth and seventh gen fighters and tanks to keep up with other nations militaries.

Geography
Geographical Location
Mariyana is located where the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean and between Asia and Oceania. It's smashed between 3 major continental plates, the Australian plate, Eurasian plate, the Australian plate, and the Pacific plate. Mariyana stretches from Panay Island in the Philipines to the southern tip of New Zealand's South Island. Mariyana also maintains a large territorial claim on Antarctica and has the third largest base that is Scott Base.

Physical Geography
Mariyana is the largest country in the Southern hemisphere and the fourth-largest country in the world. Its physical geography is characterized by rugged coastlines, a central plateau, and a desert in the central and western parts of the country. Some of the interesting geographical features include the Great Barrier Reef (the world's largest coral reef system), the Uluru (a natural rock formation in the Western Desert Territory), and the Great Australian Bight, a large body of water in the South Mariyana. While it may seem Mariyana doesn't border any nation it actually has maritime borders with 4 nations those being Western Indonesia, South East Asian Federation (SEAF), Japan, and America. Its longest mountain range is the Great Divider or the Great Dividing Range where the highest peak is located, Mount Kosciuszko. It is also close to the 16th longest river in the world and the largest in Mariyana The Murray River.

Mariyana has a population of 803 million people, the fourth largest in the world.
