Roleplay Rules and Regulations

This Bulletin serves as the officially recognized Rules and Regulations regarding RolePlay and National Rolplay Management.

General Rules and Regulations

~GodMod~
Definition:
-The intentional and unintentional control of another players nation, characters, populace, leadership, military, and assets for the purposes of declaring damages from attacks, reactions to events, economic outcome, creation or destruction of policy, or anything which deprives a players direct control of his or her nation and all within it.

-The unfair and/or highly improbable movement of characters, or military assets

~Numberwankery~
Definition:
-The impossible inflation of population, military assets for the purpose of subverting another players ability to attack or defend against an opposing nations military or military asset.

An example of this would be a nation declaring that a 50 million man army has been raised in less than an hour, or that an opposing nation has secretly had 500,000 S-700 Anti-aircraft missile stations every 5 miles of border.

~Technology Era's~
Nationstates' timelines are divided into 4 primary categories:
-PT = Past Tech. Past Tech is anything from the pre-historic era to around the year 1950.
-MT = Modern Tech. Modern Tech is anything between 1950 to +25 years from the current year
-PMT = Post Modern Tech. Post Modern Tech is anything between +25 to +100 years from the Current year based on technological advancement trends.
-FT = Future Tech. Future Tech is normally gauged by technological levels relative to existing Sci-Fi media. So imagine The Expanse in later seasons -> Star Wars or Star Trek though not limited to these specific I.P.s

There are Secondary Technology Era's within Nationstates.
-FanT = Fantasy Tech.
-ALTPT = Alternate Past Tech. This tech era is normally associated with things like SteamPunk or similar styles
-ALTMT = Alternate Modern Tech. This tech era is normally associated with things like Fallout Pre-war style technologies.
-NFT = Near Future Tech. This tech era is normally associated with things like early seasons of the Expanse or specifically the UNSC of Halo.

~Rule of Cool~
Definition:
-If it's cool not only in premise, but it is cool with everyone else it shall be permitted.

National Management

~Population~
National Populations shall be determined by the population as displayed upon your nation page until said population reaches the amount of 10 Billion. At which time the nation will take all additional 1 billion persons worth of population and divide it by 1/2 until the national population reaches 15 billion and all subsequent 1 billion persons worth of population is divided by 1/4. and any remainder of a whole number such as a X.100 Billion will be dropped entirely

For example: if nation A has 36.146 billion people listed on the nation page; Nation A will default to 10.146 Billion. Leaving 26 Billion to be allocated- taking 10 Billion and dividing by 1/2 bringing the total population to 15 Billion and leaving 16 Billion to be allocated. Dividing by 1/4 this brings the Final Total Population of Nation A to 19 Billion People. This number shall be understood as the Effective population.

~Economy~
National Economies are regulated by the player in the extent allowable by the provided issues from the main game site. Exact economic output is calculated by using approved NS Economy calculators such as:
- Linknseconomy

~Military~
National Armed Forces are and should be structured however a nation choses. Generally a military's manpower directly affects the nations quality and capabilities. The chart below is a guideline and should be seen as a starting places when designing and worldbuilding your military forces. Funding is calculated on the above listed NScalculator. If military spending is above 25% with a 5% of population for manpower a nation could assume highly advanced technology is being deployed, at 15% funding with 5% of population for manpower a nation could assume advanced technology is capable of being deployed in limited quantities. Funding at 10% or lower with a 5% of population for manpower a nation could assume that a nations military is only capable of fielding comparative technology in a defensive capacity only. Conversely if a nation has 25% of its population listed as military personnel and has 50% of its GDP as military funding it would be functioning at about a 15% funding with 5% manpower capability. Increasing manpower dramatically affects the technology capable of being deployed with said forces.

QUICK CHART
1-5% Manpower with 25%+ of GDP = S Teir Tech
5-10% Manpower with 25% of GDP = A Tier Tech
10-15% Manpower with 25% of GDP = 50% A Tier / 50% B Tier
15-20% Manpower with 25% of GDP = 25% A Tier / 75% B Tier
20-25% Manpower with 25% of GDP = B Tier Tech
25-30% Manpower with 25% of GDP = 50% B Tier / 50% C Tier
30-35% Manpower with 25% of GDP = 25% B Tier / 75% C Tier
35-40% Manpower with 25% of GDP = C Tier Tech
40-50% Manpower with 25% of GDP = D Tier Tech
50-100% Manpower with 25% of GDP = F Tier Tech

~Weak Points~
Weak Points are exploitable conditions within your nation. For example:

If Nation A has a bad crime problem, it would be conceivable that Nation B could successfully infiltrate Nation A while using crime as a cover. While laws are important, if those laws are commonly ignored or unenforced by law enforcement there can be little complaint when Nation B uses the high crime as a means of procuring weapons and contraband to use against you.

Currently approved Weak Points:
- Crime
- Poverty (Weak Economy)
- Oppression (With Poor Police Forces or Military)
- High Drug Use
- Anarchy
- Hyper-Liberalism (Porous Borders)

~ORBATs~
ORBAT = Order of Battle. Nations are required to develop and maintain a National ORBAT for tracking deployments and losses.
