Established in 1970 The Enlightened Democracy of Homidé is presidential republic with a worker co-op economy with some state planning for the public housing system and utilities. It used to be directly democratic but as the population grew this became improbable to function correctly, referendums remain common place due to the legacy of direct democracy however. The economy used to be fully state planned as well but this was stopped in the late 1980s due to economic reasons. Syra Cye is the national hero and first president of Homidé.
