Proposed Alterations to REFORM

Changes from original highlighted in bold or by strikethrough.

SECTION I: The Vice Presidency
Presidential candidates may choose to run alone or with a running mate.
Upon the election of the President, he shall appoint a vice president in addition to or from within the official cabinet as defined in Article II of the Constitution.
The Vice-President shall be counted as a Cabinet member whether or not he was promoted from within the Cabinet.

If the Vice President holds a cabinet position, he shall fully execute the duties of their cabinet position in addition to being the first-in-line for the presidency and second-in-command of the government.
In the event of removal or resignation, the incumbent President may or may not appoint a new Vice President before the next election.

SECTION II: The Senate
The Senate shall be comprised of five seats.
If the Senate is undersized, special elections shall be held to fill the vacant seats.
If a regional map is created that effectively represents the composition of the active citizenry, each Senate seat may correspond to a geographic area of the region. Editor's note: Removed this because it'd be better that we establish a map first, then decide if it's even official, and then from there decide how it works.
The Senate shall be led by the Speaker of the Senate, who may be selected of and by a simple majority of senators. The Senators shall elect from among themselves, by simple majority, a Speaker of the Senate. I think it's easier to understand this way.
Legislation, rules, or decrees shall be voted on in a specific room or channel at the discretion of the Senate, provided that final votes do not occur on the Regional Message Board, and that votes are accessible by the public. Senate votes shall occur in a public place chosen by the Senate. The Libertatem Regional Message Board is not a valid place for final Senate votes to occur. The public shall have unlimited access to this place to see the results of votes.
The Senate may vote in private on matters relevant to national or regional security.

SECTION III: Order of Succession
Should the President be incapable of fulfilling his office, the Vice President, then the Speaker of the Senate, then the Chancellor of State, then of War, then of the Interior, shall take the office.

SECTION IV: Removal of Cabinet Officials
To be added to Article II, Section III
Members of the Cabinet may be removed from office by a 4/5ths or supermajority vote in the Senate, with or without a recommendation by the President.

SECTION V: Amendments to the Constitution
Contradictions in the text of the Constitution created by further amendments may be deleted, edited or revised by the keepers of the laws without further legislation. In the event of a contradiction in the text of the Constitution created by amendment, the text of the newest amendment takes precedence. Clarifications to clauses within the Constitution may be made by the keepers of the Archives of the Second Republic without need for further legislation.
