Welcome to Greater Dienstad

How do I get started?

Is this all a little overwhelming? Not sure what you can do?

I highly encourage you to join us on the LinkGD Discord channel. A large portion of the active members of the region frequent it, and it's a great place to meet people and keep up with what's going on.

The news thread is also a great place to start (find it here). Use it as a method to introduce your nation and to let people know what's going on in it. Comment on events taking place elsewhere in the region. Or use it to start an international incident.

Another option is to start a diplomacy thread, including an embassy request thread or a political event to which are invited various world leaders. Threads focused on international events in your country are another route and a great way to start roleplaying with others. Such events might include terrorist attacks, a cruise ship stranded in international waters and in need of help, a military, the passing of a controversial law, et cetera.

Rules

We have some rules that are built around fostering a good culture for growth and player v. player RPs:

#

Rule Description

1.

Racism will not be tolerated on the Regional Message Board, on the region's off-site forum, or on the Discord chat.

2.

If you do not periodically go back and RP about your extra map claims (territorial expansions), they will be eligible for "liberation." This includes canon that has been folded under your responsibility, even if they are technically separate nations, whether those are Macabean satrapies or members of the Marshite Union. Liberation entails opening them to new map claims. This rule frees up land that is being taken up, but not used (dead land).

3.

No puppets on the map unless they are actively RPd. This includes people whose main nations are out of region. Puppets used to popwank will be shut down by my discretion.

4.

In almost all situations, except that specified in rule 5, all NPCs must be previously played countries with which you've had a strong IC and OOC relationship with. Meaning, they must have been countries that were played and developed by an actual player over a long period of time, and there must have been a strong enough IC connection between that player's canon and your own, so that eliminating that player from the map would also eliminate a significant chunk of your canon.

5.

New played nations that do not already control territory beyond their original 3 square claim can request one NPC that is 2 squares or smaller. There must be an RP based around this NPC, and the NPC is still subject to rule 2 (if you do not continue RPing that new canon, it will be removed from the map).

6.

Out of region players cannot make new map claims. They can only acquire territory on the map through RP.

7.

Bullying has a zero-tolerance policy.

8.

I interpret all sexual harassment and inappropriate, unwanted behavior as criminal and will not only ban you, but will report you to the moderators and the police.
