We're glad that you've decided to join us. We'll give you a rundown on how our region works.

The Union of Democratic States (UDS) is a direct democracy. Upon joining our region, you are automatically a citizen. No forms, no delays, nothing. Automatic citizen.
We have two branches of government. The Council of State and the General Assembly.

The General Assembly (GA) is the voting branch, and the lower house of government. It votes on bills presented by the Council of State, and in General and By-Elections.

The Council of State (CoS) is the upper house of government, and is consisted of three branches. The Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judiciary Branch.

Executive Branch

• Founder
  A ceremonial figure who assists in the legislature, and holds authority to protect the region from invaders and elected officials doing direct harm.

• Prime Minister (PM)
  The Head of State, the Chief Diplomat, and the Commander-In-Chief of the Union of Democratic States Armed Forces (UDSAF). The PM is the official leader of the UDS.
  

Legislative Branch

• Speaker
  The Head of the Legislative Branch. They bring bills to the Councillors of the Council of State and the General Assembly, and are the deciding vote if the General Assembly ends up in a tie.

• Councillors
  The voting members of the Council of State, these officials are responsible for voting on legislation that is presented by the Speaker before it is handed off to the General Assembly
  

Judiciary Branch (Supreme Court)

• Attorney General
  The Head of the Supreme Court, speaks on behalf of the Supreme Court

• Supreme Court Justices
  Similar to Councillors, they work with the Attorney General on cases and investigations
  

The UDS also has a military, called the Union of Democratic States Armed Forces (UDSAF).
The military is run by the Prime Minister, but is mainly left to the Commander of the UDSAF.
