As someone who is bisexual, I see this embassy as an absolute win.
Hello from GreaTem! :D
I think we should consider closing the embassy with the Union of Christian Nations or go into talks with their government regarding this issue. Because the way being gay is discussed in that region is far from okay.
Color me shocked....
One dude there is like "I'm not homophobic" and then another member of the region mentioned they're not straight and he said "turn away from sin or you will burn in hell. We warned you". Like yep totally not homophobic.....😒
As an Orthodox, this reactionary wave from people calling themselves 'Christians' make me disappointed. They don't even bother to study the bible like I do, and find out most of the homophobic verses were never there.
You don't burn in hell from my understandings, any person accesses Heaven so long as there is belief in Christ. but if you *do* get there, it will just be torture and once judged and sentenced to the lake of fire, your soul is destroyed and you cease to exist
According to this UCN member, we're the people stirring up trouble, not some of their members being blatantly homophobic. 🫥
As a Christian I can confirm, the only thing that gets you sent to hell is not accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and not repenting of your sins. People do still continue to sin even after accepting Jesus so basically you just need to acknowledge that sin is bad and try not to do it.
mhm! So long as you don't blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and accept that Jesus died for you, you can join him in Heaven- does not matter what you did in life, your sexuality, everything else
What's your denomination?
Yes. The Bible does say that there are things you shouldn’t do (Murder, adultery, thievery, ect.) but those aren’t conditions on whether you can go to heaven. That’s why Jesus’ sacrifice is so important and special.
Baptist. I know we can sometimes have the reputation of being extremists, but I can promise you I’m not one.
I'm actually at home being orthodox after discovering the reverence for tradition only means respect for the original scriptures with no bias or bigotry
Nice. Are you in Eastern Europe? Since there aren’t many Orthodox people in the West.
Nope, but I plan on visiting
Cool. I would visit if I had the money.
Some of them can't be that expensive
A plane ticket to Serbia for one person, one way, is around $1000. You still have to pay for hotel, return flights, and anyone else who is coming with you.
Yay....?
Honestly if you need a deity, pick Dionysus. He's the best. :p
That sounds like Annihilationism where the souls of the damned are destroyed forever after the last judgment. It's an old belief, but it's typically a minority view. Most people I think have the belief of eternal torment for non believers.
I'm a Universalist which is also a minority view. I believe all will be saved eventually. Maybe some will sit in Hell or Purgatory first, but I believe Jesus will return to save everyone.
I like Dionysus!
Yeah, I can't bring myself to believe in hell as eternal torment
I generally advise against trying to police other regions beyond the obvious no nazis/outright anti-LGBTQ rules, once you start its basically whack a mole
Having said that however,
considering this:page=rmb/postid=55664131 reeks of the same energy "i don't mind BLM if they wouldn't make so much noise" type s-, i would close it
Not an officer as far as I know, but the Gideon person is and they seem nice
(I try to be accepting to all deities and religions, Dionysus is amazing)
I say we have one person go over to either their Governor or the RMB to go talk with them, and close embassies if they're unreceptive.
