Γεια σας παιδιά. Helo guys

This region had a discord server in the past. Does it still exist?

~ Visiphon

Edit: it’s been over four years, so nobody probably remembers the name.

Hey Visiphon, I remember you. The discord no longer exists.

Nikolaos the great

Would people be interested in reviving the discord server?

Nikolaos the great

I was getting a bit nostalgic of the old days of NS, and managed to find the region's constitution that was written in 2004. This is almost 20 years old! I will keep looking around, and if I find anything else interesting I will make sure to share here.

This is the original constitution of the region of Greece from 2004. It is kept here as a historical document of the region.

The Constitution of the Regional Government and Regional Body of Greece

I. Region of Greece:

1. Let it be known, that the governing body shall be acknowledged as "The Regional Government of Greece." The homeland shall be known as "The Region of Greece." The name of the territory may be named, but not limisted to as: "Greece", "Greek Territory", "Hellas", "Greek", "the Region", "Greek Union."

2. The official capital will be set forth on an individual island, which is a neutral location of all Greek Territories. The island territory will be known as: The Greek Administrative Island (GAI).

3. The Greek Territories will follow the timeset of Eastern Time Zone / Eastern Daylight Savings Time. (EST/EDT.)

II. Executive Branch:

1. (a) General - The President is the leader of the Greek Union that is either elected democratically by the nations of Greece, or temporarily inherits the role of President due to resignation, death, or incompetence. The President will appoint four members to the Executive Cabinet: Vice-President, Minister of State, Minister of Armed Forces, and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

(b)The only non-appointed delegate is the UN Delegate, which is elected by the people. All cabinet members must be approved by the Assembly with a majority vote. Any cabinet member may be replaced due to resignation, death, or incompetence. Any cabinet member may be removed by a 60% majority vote in the Assembly, whereto if there is a tie, the Assembly Speaker will cast the deciding ballot.

© The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is appointed every three months, to which he can serve as a cabinet member in cabinets that do not belong to the administration that appointed him. This choice is empowered upon the decision of the President alone. The Chief Justice will act as only an advisor. In the event of any conflict of interests, the President must temporarly or ensure total removal.

2. (a)Cabinet Duties - Each member in the Executive Cabinet has duties that he or she must perform in order to serve the region of Greece properly. Each duty is assigned by the Bill indicated under: The Executive Acts Bill, 2004

(B) Vice-President: The Vice-President acts as Second-in-Command, and shares with the President many of the same powers. The Vice-President is solely in charge of the Assembly and all matters of communication between the Executive Branch and the Assembly.

3. Elections, Terms, and Limits - The President and UN Delegate shall be democratically elected by the people. Terms for each will last approximately thirty-five (35) days. Elections for both will always take place between the twenty-eighth (28) and thirty-first days (31) of the term, lasting approximately 72 hours. Approximately ninety-six (96) hours later, the President and Delegate-elects will take office.

4. There will be no term limits placed on either job, as the actual polls will end the reign of a leader when it is seen fit. There must always be at least two candidates for each position in each election. If for some reason an elected leader is not challenged, they will not win by default; an election will be held at the earliest convenience with a challenger or yes/no vote.

5. Cabinet leaders may serve as many times as they are appointed, but never can one nation serve an appointed executive office and an elected executive office at the same time.

4. Powers - The President has many powers that come with his job.

(a) The veto can be used to oppose any bill passed by the Assembly if a bill is passed by less than a two-thirds vote. If a resolution is passed with a 50-65% approval margin and vetoed by the President, it must go back before the Assembly and be passed by at least 66% of the legislative body in order to override the President's veto. If the bill fails to gain at least a two-thirds approval, then the bill dies.

(B) The President can issue up to five executive orders during each term, which are temporary or permanent "laws" that go into affect without the approval of the Assembly. The President can issue martial law, order military endeavors without the approval of the Assembly for approximately 72 hours, make a temporary alliance with a region for 14 days before the Minister of Foreign Affairs approves, appoint a judge without the approval of Assembly, and other assorted issues. Any executive order, however, can be declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court and the President can face penalties up to removal from office.

© The Greek President is the leader of the Greek Army. He, with the approval of the Assembly, can order troops to any location. The President will collaborate with the Minister of Armed Forces to strategize military plans. In absence of the President, the Vice-President will take control of the army. The United Nations Delegate acts as the Emergency Actions Leader, and may with the President, order any Armed Forces nation to a defensive post.

(d) The President has the authority to close the Border of Greek Territory(s) at any time. The United Nations Delegate may close the border(s) without the President's approval if an invasion is to or is taking place, whereas the President or Vice-President cannot be contacted. IN the event a Vice-President is communicated, the Vice-President will assume the role of the President to determine if a closure is possible.

5. Entitlements

(a) In respect to elected/appointed members of the region or Ambassadors, titles of representation will be assigned. Depending on the entitlement, they will last for either the duration of the term of office, or for the remaining of there nations existance.

(B) They may be repealled after the nation's term of office - in the event for life entitlements - if the Assembly receives unanimous support from the General Assembly, AND Is approved by the Office of the President.

© The entitlements includes:

(c-1) The Right-Honourable - For nations who served as President of the Regional Government of Greece. This entitlement remains for the duration of the nation's civilization.

(c-2) The Honourable - For nations who serve either as an appointed Cabinet position (excluding Chief Justice), or as the nation who serves as the United Nations Delegate. This entitlement remains until the end of the membering nation's role in office. This entitlement is also reserved for the nation who is selected by the membering nations of the Assembly, for the Speaker of the Assembly.

(c-3) The Most Excellent Nation - For the nation who serves as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Greece. This entitlement remains for the duration of the nation's civilization.

(c-4) The Excellent Nation - For the nation who serves as a Justice in the Supreme Court of Greece. This entitlement remains for the duration of the nation's civilization.

(c-5) The Responsible Nation - For the nation who serves as an Ambassador to another region. This entitlement remains until the end of the membering nation's role as Ambassador.

III. Judicial Branch:

1. Elections, Terms, and Limits - The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will be appointed by the President once every three months. There will be two other justices to the Supreme Court that will be elected once every three months, with no limits on how many times they may serve. The elections will be held on the 20th of each month at 12:00 AM EST/EDT and ending on the 23rd of each month at 12:00 AM EST/EDT, lasting approximately 72 hours. There must always be at least three candidates running for office in each election. If for some reason an elected leader is not challenged, they will not win by default; an election will be held at the earliest convenience with a challenger. There are no term limits for judges.

2. Powers - The Supreme Court has many powers that come with the job.

(a)The act of declaring an action, law, or bill unconstitutional is probably the most powerful command that a judge possesses. It will be then, when the Supreme Court of Greece will be called in to resolve the matter. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will assemble the Court, to hear the case from the Prosecutor and Defence. In either case, the prosecutor may be an association/union or individual state. The same may go for the Regional Government of Greece. The regional government is represented automatically by the President, and acts through the Office. In most cases, the President will assign a Representative to act for the government's side.

(B) The President may veto the Supreme Court of Greece, but no-more then two (2) consecutive times in a row. The term is known as The Notwithstanding Clause of Greece. The Office of the President may only effectivly veto a motion from the Supreme Court of Greece and keep it binding until the President's term expires. After which, the incoming President, must decided whether to re-enact the Notwithstanding Clause of Greece or keep the motion of the Court, in power.

© Any previous Court sessions may be challengend under the Clause by the President.

(d) The Assembly may challenge the Notwithstanding Clause of Greece and override the President's decision, however the Assembly must have a passing margin of no-less of 70% with no less then 50+1% in attendence of the vote. In the case of an override, the President may use a secondary veto of the Notwithstanding Clause of Greece, following the same rules set prior, however if passed by a margin 71% with no less then 50+1% in attendance, then the President has exhausted the attempts.

(e) No Notwithstanding Clause of Greece acts as an Executive order set in Article 4 (2-C.)

Hello there! We regret to announce that our embassies in your region will be closing down. This has nothing to do with the region itself, the people residing here, or the environment that has been fostered. We appreciate the original embassy and wish you the best of luck!
