Hello friends! I am excited to be beginning a new chapter with the new DSA. I hope to become more involved here than I had been in the old DSA. I look forward to getting to know you all and working with you all throughout the coming transition.

Welcome to Bankoria and Lysaraville! It is heartening to see two dedicated regions choose to join us here! I also look forward to getting to you each of you better as we transition!
Five gardens, I have not considered contacting any of the old splinter groups yet. Earlier in the evening The grand ocean did some great work for us, going around to the different regions who have embassies with the former DSA and alerting them to our formation. Some of these groups might be splinter groups (like the NUSN), but I don't think all of them have an embassy with the former DSA. If you'd like to at least start a dialogue with them, while keeping Bazlantis and the ambassadors apprised of what you're doing, I don't see the harm. At this point in the game, I'm happy for any and everyone to pitch in as they best know how.
Thanks to all!!! I'm heading to bed, so it's going to be hours before I check back in. I don't want anyone to think I'm ignoring them.

P.P.S. Please do not construe any of my previous statements to mean that anyone should go recruiting in fellow socialist regions. It would not only be rude, it would be a foreign relations disaster. I think there is a difference between letting regions know we're around (adding "huzzah, no more McKinney) and recruiting. Do not recruit in sister socialist regions. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks in advance for all the hard work!

Appologies for use of the term "recruiting" in my earlier post. It was meant to be directed more at informing other regions and establishing inter-regional relations. Explicit recruiting would be inappropriate. Having said that, it is certainly possible that some of the nations in those regions are there simply because they couldn't stand CMK and would find the new DSA a better fit than their current home.

I went to extend my WA endorsements to old friends and new comrades. Opalaland, I couldn't help notice that you are no longer listed as a member of the WA. May I ask why you chose to withdraw your WA membership?

I would like to commend Opalaland for the bold step of creating this new and democratic region. I had been looking around for a new region to join for a while now, but none of the existing ones really fitted the bill. Let us hope that the other nations, in the old DSA, see sense and come here too.

Great thanks for Opalaland and Bazlantis for their efforts in securing our democracy!
We have however, in this time of tumult, a concern.
Bazlantis created a new region previously and in a discussion we worked out a founder system that would both ensure democracy now and ensure continuity in the future. While we strongly approve of the name of this region, we would suggest a more secure founder system where the founder account can be passed on when the founder leaves the game. As Opalaland is of course a very active nation, this is no problem for the foreseeable future, so our concern is of course not an absolute requirement for us supporting this region.
We extend all nations a warm welcome to a more democratic DSA.
Let us together build a society of equals.

I am once again grateful for your invitation, Opalaland. I regret being absorbed in local affairs (with good reason and consequence), and not more wary of affairs in the Democratic Socialist Alliance. We are hopeful for this fresh start for democracy!

I look forward to a future in a truly democratic region.
But also I want to address how Cynthia ejected a nation for being a "Zionist spy".
I absolutely hope we can somehow add to the Charter the duty to respect religions and to separate religious beliefs from international politics. We should however still be able to discuss religion and politely debate about Zionism and other topics, but international action against religion might only be allowed in the case of civil rights violations and political freedoms violations (like religious cannibalism - perhaps a topic of its own).

We should add a clause to the charter in regards to protection of religious freedom. Perhaps even broader than that - protection of intellectual freedom.

We agree with the sentiments of Bestowments and the proposal of Five Gardens of a Charter sanctioned protection of intellectual freedom.
Perhaps someone would like to create a suggestion for an amendment about this? How could it be worded?
