The entire nation collectively decided to do nothing for a day. Unfortunately, we were so preoccupied with doing nothing, not even thinking, that we didn't notice when the day had ended. We might have gone on doing nothing forever, if an outsider hadn't come along and done something. We executed him for that, and then checked the date and realised we didn't need to do nothing anymore.

Not really.

Question of the Day:

What estimated proportion of your nation's people actually achieve the career or other lifestyle goals they seek?

Tethys 13 wrote:My answer:
Quite a lot, probably around 85%. Tethysi are strongly encouraged to and rewarded for pursuing their academic interests, and the culture is essentially built around ensuring each life tells a good story. Since the vast majority of Tethysi die of old age, they rarely lose the chance to achieve something they find worthwhile.

A good amount, maybe around 60%. It is easy to learn anything and get any job, assuming you learned everything you need to.

I think that a modern iteration in this series would be interesting. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=35&start=0

About 51%.

Btw is it just me or does anyone else here have issue accessing the statistic global rank page? Thought they should have fixed it by now after the week long "catastrophic hardware failure".

Tethys 13 wrote:Question of the Day:

I would say 99.0%. I would say the rest that are left are the leadership that hasn't made it to that 100% because we are still working on it. Getting close. Now is such a thing as 100% possible? I believe that is the last percent of our glorious plan of our benevolent father. Is it possible? As long as they don't screw up hehe.

Trontasky wrote:Btw is it just me or does anyone else here have issue accessing the statistic global rank page? Thought they should have fixed it by now after the week long "catastrophic hardware failure".

Some pages should be fine, but the ones showing the history of your stats are still broken.
So your "trophies" screen, which lists all your stats and how you rank vs World and Region should be good:
nation=trontasky/detail=rank

Looking at the "chart" history of a stat is broken:
nation=trontasky/detail=trend

You can get to the list of top scoring players for a particular stat by going through the "World" page to get to here:
page=list_nations?censusid=74

Or through the region page to get to compare to just region mates:
page=list_nations/region=osiris?censusid=74

Hope that helps

Edit to add:
Almonaster (who is more astute than me) has noticed issues within the rankings pages

What old, terrible game do you have a particularly rose-tinted nostalgic attachment to?

The 2002 Fellowship of the Ring game. Tethys 13 wrote:Question of the Day:

Probably this old iPad game called Zombie Cafè. Sadly it was discontinued however I remember staying up all night to feed my zombies and then let them feed customers, sounds kinda weird but it was fun and cool hehe! I discovered the existence of zombies through that game and whenever I play it, I just love the vibe and feelings!

The Party congratulates all workers of the world with the International Day of Labor Solidarity!

Class struggle has been going on since the first human enslaved another of his kin, and shows no signs of ending soon. The labor movement is what guaranteed the workers many things we take for granted: an 8-hour work day, weekends, paid vacations, maternity leave, prohibition of child labor, reading the full list would exhaust anyone. All of this was achieved through blood. The ruling classes have no interest in relaxing exploitation, all they need is profit.

Thus, Russian workers revolted in 1917, violently breaking down the oppressive regime. Newly established government under Lenin has installed world's best labor protections, and Western bourgeoisie, terrified of sharing the fate of the Romanov family, granted their workers some concessions, among which were the aforementioned rights.

Today, those rights are being slowly but surely retracted: in the USA, 13 states are seeking to weaken child labor laws, and so-called "platform work", which lets the capitalists completely evade any responsibility, is on the rise globally. This is, again, a product of class struggle, and the oppressors are winning.

To change this, we must follow Lenin's call: Workers of the world, unite! Only in solidarity, can the working class put up a fight to protect all what lives were sacrificed for.

It's far from terrible but it's old and i have a rose-tinted nostalgic attachment to it.

Tethys 13 wrote:Question of the Day:

Two Worlds. Absolutely awful, but I was a little kid and hadn't yet played anything resembling a decent RPG, and it let me hit people with swords. The guards were insanely powerful for some reason, but I figured out how to bait them into this camp full of wyverns who would kill them for me.

Hazbin Hotel, as I mentioned, and the Goblin Slayer abridged series, though I have not watched the original. I also found a fun Warhammer 40,000 lore podcast, 'Isyander & Koda', and two games - The Pathless, which I bought for its stunning visuals after seeing a video pointing out its derivation from Shadow of the Colossus, and Another Crab's Treasure, a Dark Souls-esque game in which you play as a hermit crab, which I imagine thus pays proper respect to shielding unlike Elden Ring.

I discovered Frieren, which admittedly was not the type of show I imagined I'd enjoy but turned out to be a very good watch. And while it may not necessarily be considered fun, I do have an actual major to pursue and wish to continue my education for the first time since I refounded in Osiris all those many years ago.

recently learned konosuba s3 has started to come out and i have been enjoying it so far, though i dislike that it seems theyre making the main character more sleazy each season, ig for the comedic affect which i dont hate all the time but it feels a lot more prevalent so far and isnt hitting as much for me, though perhaps its always been like this and its just been a while since ive watched konosuba idk. shows aside ive recently discovered the kpop group "ive" whose music ive enjoyed so far
plant fun fact i learned this past month;
tomatoes can grow roots along their entire stem, giving them a huge advantage over several crops particularly in terms of transplanting (these are called adventitious roots)
when you buy a more mature seedling from somewhere or grow some from seed into seedlings, as you plant them you can plant them much deeper into the soil rather than level to how they were grown before
you can just pluck the very bottom set or 2 of leaves off and bury them up to the next highest set and this will let them form a longer line of roots giving them access to more nutrients during the season as well as helping them be more hardy and stable

also oops its been months since ive answered a qotd D:
