Just like, if you were to change the government, what would you do? Bring back the President, make us unicameral, etx

Absolute monarchy under Cerdenia, of course.

Hmmm, I'm not sure there's a lot I would change. The current system theoretically at least I think is pretty good.

I see at least someone in this region has got common sense

Announcement from the Thaecian World Assembly Office

Effective immediately the Thaecian World Assembly Office will be ceasing asking citizens opinions of a proposal posts for the General Assembly. This is to reduce the workload for the Office, and these posts are the least interacted with.

The Office will continue to post recommendations for both the General Assembly & Security Council, as well as seek the opinion of citizens for Security Council proposals.

Citizens will still, and always will, be welcome to share their opinions on General Assembly proposals and the WA Office will take this into account when making a decision on how to vote.

I agree with Orang Moku, the system is, theoretically, perfect... very perfect...

For the heck of it, absolute monarchy as well :P

Either Thaecia will have good emperors, bad emperors, or great conquerors.

The best part of Idaho is the environment. As both an incredibly rural state and a relatively undeveloped state (compared to our neighbors in the PNW, Oregon and Washington) Idaho has a lot of relatively untouched wilderness. Just fifteen minutes away from Boise, where I live, there’s the Boise National Forest. It has great camping, free of charge. You also have to drive through it to get to the university I am currently enrolled in, the University of Idaho. Moscow, ID, the town where the university is, is in an area known as the Palouse. It’s a hilly area with great hiking and other outdoor activities. It’s also the first place I saw genuinely golden wheat. Like, southern Idaho wheat is more of a yellow-brown color, but Palouse wheat is decidedly golden. The weather in Idaho varies, in the Boise area the weather is hot during the summer, regularly exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the hottest days, and a fairly mild winter, not really dropping below the teens. We do get some snow here, but not a lot. The most snow we’ve ever gotten during one snow season in my lifetime was a couple feet. Compare that to when I lived in Helena, Montana, where we easily got over a dozen feet of snow over the course of six months, and it doesn’t seem like a lot. (Not so fun fact for my time there, but it was regularly below -20 degrees during the morning and in the negative teens during the hottest part of the day during that winter I lived there.) Southern Idaho’s snow season is much shorter, only on very rare occasions do we get snow past the middle of February, and it doesn’t start snowing until December. We did recently break a regional temperature record when the temperature in Boise reached the hottest recorded temperature in the month of January. It was 66 degrees. The wildlife in Idaho is fairly typical of the other states in the Rocky Mountains, we’ve got some mountain lions that don’t usually bother anybody, we’ve got lots of deer too. There’s at least one traffic jam a year in Boise because a bunch of deer decided to take an hour to cross the road.

This was a bit longer than I planned on making this post but whatevs lol. Also no paragraph breaks because I’m on mobile rn and formatting is a pain.

The Thaecian World Assembly Office recommends you vote FOR Commend Kalosia.

Current Recommendations
Updated 14th April 2024 by Delegate Rayekka

General Assembly (GA)

Voting Recommendation on: Pre-Packaged Food Labels

Voting Recommendation: FOR

REASONING:
The Thaecian World Assembly Office recommends you vote FOR this resolution. This is because the resolution will provide the consumer with good information on what the food contains including additives so they can make an informed choice on what they purchase, as well as other benefits.

Security Council (SC)

Voting Recommendation on: Declaration On Griefing

Voting Recommendation: AGAINST

REASONING:
The Thaecian World Assembly Office recommends you vote AGAINST this resolution. This is because the resolution exaggerates the impact of a 'griefer' changing tags or the WFE when they can be easily resolved.

What the WA Office does

Want to know more about what the Thaecian World Assembly Office does? This section will tell you.

The Thaecian World Assembly Office

The Thaecian World Assembly Office is the Office responsible for all things World Assembly (WA) related. The Office represents the elected World Assembly Delegate (WAD) and the Vice Delegate (VD) when the WAD is not available.

The WADs key role is to vote on proposed resolutions in the General Assembly and Security Council. They vote on behalf of the Thaecian region as a whole. Their vote often sways how Thaecian World Assembly citizens vote.

While not required, it is precedent that for each vote the WAD will ask for opinions from Thaecians on a resolution in the Thaecian Regional Message Board (RMB) and/or a dedicated World Assembly channel on the Thaecia Discord server. These discussions and opinions can help a WAD decide how to vote on a proposal, and also allows the opportunity for the Thaecian Government and other senior Foreign Affairs officials to have their input should they wish. Once a decision has been made and a vote cast, the WAD publishes a dispatch stating how they voted and why. It is worth noting that this, again, is precedent and not required by the WAD.

In the World Assembly, before a proposal can be put to vote, it requires to reach a quorum. This can be achieved by getting there resolution approved by WADs. WADs often receive telegrams requesting that they approve a proposal, and whether they do or not is completely up to them.

In Thaecia, the WAD holds an executive regional officer role. This is an incredibly important role with major responsibility, as the executive regional officer role means the WAD can dismiss/appoint other regional officers, close the regions borders and updated the World Factbook Entry (WFE). This means the WAD needs to be a trusted person who only exercises the executive powers when it is the wishes of the democratically elected Government and Congress. The WAD can freely update the WFE in order to keep citizens up to date on WA and regional happenings.

If you'd like to know about the World Assembly itself, scroll down to 'Helpful links' where there are links to WA guides made by esteemed members of the NationStates community.

Delegacy Transition Procedures

L.R.042, the Delegacy Transition Act, creates a procedure to be followed when a new World Assembly Delegate is elected. This section will take you through the process.

Procedure

What YOU need to do

  • Endorse the Delegate-elect (and Vice Delegate-elect)

  • Do NOT un-endorse the outgoing Delegate

  • Do un-endorse any other nations that have more endorsements than the Delegate-elect

What the outgoing Delegate will do

The outgoing Delegate is legally required to cast their vote on resolutions, and approve proposals, in line with how the Delegate-elect requests.

What the incoming Delegate will do

The incoming Delegate is legally required to endorse all WA nations in Thaecia for the duration of the transition, and send a mass telegram to all WA nations in Thaecia, reminding them to endorse the Delegate-elect.
