Dinner came with a show tonight. We got to watch a police officer administer a roadside sobriety test in the parking lot just over the rail from our table. After watching this guy fail all the tests (miserably), it is my considered opinion I couldn't pass that test sober.

Speaking of interesting: https://www.kbtx.com/2024/05/14/exclusive-federal-agencies-join-investigation-into-possible-arson-fire-college-station-krispy-kreme/

Congrats to Big Tex for reclaiming his rightful spot as the most stationary nation in the world!

Somebody torched a Krispy-Kreme? Oh HELL no. There is no hole deep enough, there is no cell dark enough, there is no penalty that would exceed cruel and unusual for that offense against man and [insert deity of choice here].

**winks**

Here's a story from Denver in the late 70's. Someone robbed the Winchell's donut shop on Evans at Monaco around 2:30 in the morning. It should also be pointed out that donut shop happened to be the preferred hang out for many district 3 police officers. This occured at a time when very few armed robbery suspects were caught immediately after the fact.

We heard the robbery go out over the police radio. I looked at my partner and said, "That man just screwed up big time. He just robbed the cops favorite hangout and probably scared the crap out of Mary. (She was the pretty little counter girl that worked overnights in that shop.) He laughed and added, "If they catch him, we'll have to go pronounce the corpse."

Four minutes later they had the robber in custody. (No we did not have to go an pronounce him.) They caught him with the money in the Winchell's bag, the gun, and the colorful stocking mask.

Moral of the story, don't mess with the donut shop. The cops won't sleep until they have the people responsible.

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

WooHootie! Saturday Breakfast In Place time! Bring out the Drones! The NewTexas Happy Taco Stands, in conjunction with the NewTexas Incendiary Corporation, has approximately 1 trillion of the fastest, lightest drones you have ever seen. This fleet is specially designed to deliver tacos to every man, woman, child, whatever, all 2,298,723,000,000 of you in Texas.

For today's dining delight, we present Saturday Fajita and Egg Tacos [COVID-19 Week CCVIII Edition]! Start your day with this big beefy, juicy steak and egg taco! Genuine Texas Angus Beef is freshly butchered on-premises and is gently grilled in our Taco Town commissary grills to tender, succulent perfection. At the same time, delicious, super jumbo, organic, farm-fresh, brown eggs are scrambled just right by your NewTexas Abuelas with love. These two simple, expertly prepared ingredients are rolled in hot, fresh flour tortillas made on the premises last night just for you.

Today's Special Salsa is our go-to - Salsa Ranch - this is simply a 50-50 mix of Ranch Dressing and Salsa Roja, the Texas Gold Standard red salsa prepared with tomatoes, garlic, onions, jalapeńos, and a touch of cilantro. A sealed cup of Texas-made Longhorn Cheddar Jack cheese is also included for those who want a bit of cheese. The taco is hermetically sealed in a Stay-Warm® pouch wrapped in the same ol' aluminum foil we are all so familiar with for our breakfast taco. We are trying to keep it real, peeps. For your beverage accompaniment, a packet of Sanka, Tang and a Lipton Tea bag will be included with every delivery as well as salt and pepper and a napkin. Yes, it is different, but it works and you do not even have to leave your residence. Woo! And, watch out for the drones! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. You know you want to!®

Stay Safe Texas. Stay Well. Hang in there!

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, or 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is an excellent opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, debate, and talk about the weather, stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff, and more. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and discussing the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, VirtualTexans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome.

We have added a new feature to Texas Chat, Texas Movie Chat! Chat with Texans while watching a movie. Fun stuff! So far we have watched Halloween, Shootout at the OK Corral, Red, and recently a few new Star Trek series episodes. Want to watch something together?

Texas Chat, 989 weeks, and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 19¾ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

The Iranian President and the Iranian Foreign Minister are both missing in a helicopter crash. Aye, the haggis is in the fire for sure.

So place your bets on who or what caused that crash. In the meantime, blaming Israel and US in three... two... one...

I'll upvote your comment for the Scotty reference on its own. I did see that story, it is a bit suspicious. Although it sounds like they're more figure head than holding real power as they need the approval of the Supreme Leader.
