The Stilling of Aura: An Introductory Investigation in the Social History of Gosheone Theology

The contemporary pervasive condition of atheism in Gosheon society (formalized within civil society under the functional epithet: "Secularismé") ordinarily precludes even the suggestion of a past theocratic regime. Official government histories speak of the former monarchy with the deference that tradition is due, but minimize any implications of the theological nature of that monarchy. Indeed, for most citizens (who are content to live in a bustling, thriving, technologically advanced state), there is no hint of a narrative of the theological implications of the "divine right" that monarchies typically evoke. Content, polite citizens generally do not question official government narratives.

However, the evidences of a past regime, while subtle at first to an untrained (or unconcerned) eye, eventually reveal their mysteries in sharp relief to a careful observer. Take for consideration the formal categorization of "Transcendental Republic." Contemporary government interpretations read this as a metaphor for the advanced technological state of the society -- and for the ordinary, sensible citizen, there is no reason to doubt this interpretation or to suspect any deeper underlying reality. But in this report, this author will propose that the forms of legal address, far from being merely metaphorical or traditional, speak to a now hidden sacred mystery that once was as ubiquitous in Gosheone society as modern day atheism now is -- the existence (and prevalence) of a non-material form of energy called "aura." Furthermore, this investigation will document evidences that while the arcane art of auraworking (or "auramancy") is rare and subtle in a technological era, the manipulation, control, or channeling of this mystical force is a capability of the democratically elected ruling class of Gosheon to this day.
