Greetings! I am Emera, a traveler working on a travel guide and I decided to stop here to add 10000 Islands to my guide after a recommendation, I will be staying a little while before moving on, most likely a day or two, a few hours before I move on I will be asking for suggestions on where to go next, if you guys give me suggestions you will be mentioned in my travel guide! Welcome to 10000 Islands! If you're new to the game, you're probably wondering what all of the site features are and how they work. You'll find that NationStates is a seemingly simple browser game with a rich community and a depth of features and game play developed by players over the course of almost 18 years. 10000 Islands is one of the oldest regions in the game, dating back to 2002, with a continuously operational defender military and active regional government. Opening Steps The first thing you'll want to do, if you haven't already, is to answer your issues. In NationStates, you function as the all-powerful leader of your nation and Issues are how you effect your government's policy and national statistics. Issues are the only way to effect these and you'll have to wait for more issues once you've answered them all. To learn more about issues, you can check out the 10000 Islands While you wait to receive more issues, you should join the World Assembly (WA). Joining the WA requires that you input your email address on the settings page (know that your email will not be visible to other users and NationStates does not send you spam emails!). Joining the World Assembly is important because it grants you a say in developing international law through the General Assembly and preserving international peace through the Security Council. More importantly, joining the WA grants you citizenship in 10000 Islands, which allows you to participate in elections and run for office. Once you've joined the World Assembly, be sure to endorse the World Assembly Delegate Astrobolt. Endorsing the Delegate gives the region more power in the World Assembly because the Delegate's vote is weighted so they receive an extra vote for each WA endorsement they have. Fiddling around with the NS issues can be fun at first, but it can become stale after a while if that's all you're doing. Fortunately for you we at XKI have a number of places where you can interact with your fellow islander and play games with them. Be sure to join our 
regional forum and our discord so you're able to fully indulge yourself in XKI activities.
Taco Island is where most of the action takes place as it is the most active part of our forum. Over here you can spam to your hearts content, whether it be joining a spam chain, lightheartedly role-playing in wacky scenarios or just chatting with some new found friends about the meanings of life, Taco Island is the place to do it. You can also take a look at some games being hosted on our Games Board, join in on the fun! If you feel a little anxious about posting on the regional forum for the first time, join in on one of the Taco Island threads, it's a great way to get started and involved in the community! Also, check out the Taco Island Section of our Discord if you want to crack jokes or have a nice chat in real time with some XKI Islander friends.
Though Taco Island allows for some aspect of role-play, if you're more a an avid role-player you may be looking for something a bit more robust and serious. In that regard we have three outlets where you can test out your writing prowess! For those who tend to stick onsite on Nationstates we also have two dedicated regions, A Taco Archipelago and A Taco Fantasy, where you and your friends can use the region's RMB for more fast paced improvised role-play. In general ATA is used for more futuristic roleplays, while ATF is used for medieval roleplays. Our discord also has a room where you're able to engage with faster paced role-play with your fellow islander! Our Cultural Office hosts a number of fun and unique events throughout the year, previous events can be viewed here. Be on a lookout for event notifications by the Cultural Office either in a telegram, on the forums or on discord.

XKI Casino, located over on our forums is where you can play games to gamble away your hard earned Tacos, our regional currency. The regular games you can participate in are the weekly Cash Lottery or the weekly game of Sic Bo. There are also a number of surprise events that pop up, another thing to look out for if you want big taco money.
