Its a beautiful morning in the Republic, My name is Teng Julin and I'll be your host this morning on HNN. This morning we have a special broadcast from Sumoriant where President Jazzar has a special announcement to the globe.
The cameras focused on Jazaar.
“Greetings and kind welcome to all Sumori and all international observers who may see this address.” Jazaar began.
Jazaar's face grimaced as the weight of the message he was about to deliver truly set in.
“For years now, we have told the Fusean continent, and by extension the entire world, that Sumoriant had hundreds of years worth of natural gas and oil buried underneath its lands. I am here today to tell you this was entirely wrong. In just the past few weeks, two of our largest oil fields in the west dried up, and soon after that, just a few days ago, actually, the entire western portion of Sumoriant with oil fields completely ran dry...."
The live feed cut out.
"Oh I'm so sorry folks it seems there was a technical difficulty with the live feed. We will cut to a commercial break and return with an update on the situation."
The news cast stopped...
"What was that?! Were we even allowed to play that? Sumoriant running out of oil?" Mad scrambling overtook the broadcast room.
"Go get the fact team."
"God we are in a world of pain...."
"Why was this broadcasted? Did they not understand how much panic this would send the world into? Is Haicheng informed about this?"

In mere moments of the global broadcast, oil futures on the Xujing Stock Exchange began climbing. Netizens on SAUMao Place were left in disbelief over what they saw, the jumped into their forums and private messages searching for answers and explanations.
"Clearly the Sumoriant government is incompetent, no way they could run out of oil so fast?"...
"Corruption all corrupt official feeding lies to the world."...
"I bet you the Sumoriant government's hiding oil under the royal palace!"...
"Corrupt! Evil!"...
"Didn't the government go through a coup?"...
"Did you guys check on crude oil prices? People are gambling big time!"
"ITS THE OIL SQUEEEZE!!!!! EMERALD HANDS EVERYONE RIDE IT TO THE MOOOOOOOOOON!"
"Seriously, how could this happen?"
"WELLL AKchually, Sumoriant is a very wealthy and prosperous nation with a supremely all powerful government if we were more like sumor..."
"NU UHHHH!"
Endless messages and theories circulated social media; a narrative about an evil and corrupt sumori government wanting to purposely undermine global stability began to take root. All the while traders continued buying up oil contracts.
"Guys look at this SAOMau Place is blowing up."
"I have never seen this level of trade activity for ShrimpPEC in a decade. Holy Mother of Mercy."
"Gods why did they announce it on broadcast! Was the Chairman informed prior?"
Aides and secretaries walked around the capitol buildings furiously trying to contact all staff.
"Chairman Lieu has been informed."
"Oh, thank the Mother."
"Quickly we need a response to this crisis. Go assembled the energy committee and get in contact with representatives for Pandoska. We need to bring OPEN to the world stage if we are to combat this oil crisis as quickly as possible."

"Send invitations for representatives from the Eternal Dominion, Svipjoth, Rynese Confederacy and every other nation that produces petroleum! Every nation that produces oil or has remaing oil reserves must attend allegiances be damned."
