The Incorporated States of Kaleidos is a large, orderly nation, remarkable for its public floggings, restrictive gun laws, and spontaneously combusting cars. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 73 million Kaleidians are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

The relatively small, moralistic, pro-business, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, with Law & Order and Spirituality also on the agenda, while International Aid and Welfare receive no funds. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.4%.

The very strong Kaleidian economy, worth 5.16 trillion solons a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Gambling industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Tourism, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is 70,650 solons, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 380,555 per year while the poor average 6,818, a ratio of 55.8 to 1.

Young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, companies balk at paying their workers, an enfeebled opposition party spends most of its time simply trying to stay on the ballot, and agricultural employees work for peanuts. Crime is moderate, possibly because it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many regulations. Kaleidos's national animal is the walrus.

Kaleidos is ranked 56,109th in the world and 30th in Mitteleuropa for Most Patriotic, with 25 flags saluted per person per day.
