Vinazio is the capital of the Kingdom of Cavillia, though despite the formal name of Cavillia is more a republic due to the decades long absence of a monarch and the rise of the Gonfaloniere Justice. In turn the Kingdom of Cavillia is one of the many successor states to the Vartherranian Empire, established in turn as a successor to the city-state Kingdom of Themos. The long line of successions begins during the great Leviathan War between the ancients of Themos and the Leocosians cities, a war in which cause the great collapse of the Bronze Kings. One of the many casualties was the city of Themos which lost the war by it’s almost two decades end.

Despite the fall of Themos some did survive, amongst the survivors was the Themosian prince Varian, son of Lyos, who would go on to found an empire on the Elesian Peninsula. Varian founded the city of Vartherra, later known as Varia after the Groheran invasion and settlement of northern Elesia, which would become the capital of the empire which was later to come. Of Varian’s lineage did see thirteen kings sit upon the throne of Varia, but after the thirteenth a mighty republic did arise and saw the age of the Vartherranian Republic. But even such a republic did crumble to the days of the Vartherranian Empire, but even that too would fade to the edges of history.

During the rise of the Vartherranian Empire the world came into contact with the presence of the Fairies, a powerful race of magic wielders and world-shapers, for they in fact had shaped many worlds since the dawn of time. The most powerful amongst these fairies was a beautiful enchantress by the name of Morgana; her people were called the Quelverdi, for the green forests of which they became famous, or infamous, for inhabiting. Morgana quickly became allies with the Vartherranian Emperors, earning herself the small kingdom of “Paese Verde” or the Kingdom of Green. However, this small keep would not be enough for the powerful Morgana… for Morgana needed more. It was during the 237 AV (“Anni del Velo”, or more formally “Anni Dopo il Velo,” meaning “years after the Veil”) that the Fae of Morgana’s court attacked the Empire, beginning the Fae Wars of Conquest, aka the Eight Hundred Years’ War, seeing the brutal end of the Vartherranian Empire.

In an unexpected twist, on January 9, the liberal-leaning Parliamentary Republican Party, the Social Party's historic ally, announced that it would propose its own candidate for prime minister, the young economist Daniel Mejía. This announcement came as a shock to the Opposition, as it was believed that the PRP would support the Social Party as the nationalists would support the National Party.

Lidia Vélez, leader of the Social Party, expelled the Parliamentary Republicans from the Counter-Government, while the far-left Labor Union said it would support Vélez's candidacy.

On January 8, both the Atrocha Nationalist Party and the Democrats announced their support for Rodrigo Sosa's candidacy for prime minister if he is victorious in the June elections. Many predict the fall of the left in the face of a united right. The Social Diversity Movement has not yet communicated its support, while the Federal Party, led by Demetrio Psaras, announced in December 2033 that it will support the "Party that seeks the best situation for the Deltans".

The Ministry of the Interior announced that all maritime trade with the provinces of Somé and Playabán and the territory of Goya will be suspended due to the war situation in Aislada. According to the measures taken, the transport will be carried out by land, with the ships arriving in Estandé and then crossing by land through the Illirican Mezzogiorno to the river port of Somé. This situation could severely affect the economic life of the Overseas Provinces, which are already affected by the restrictions of navigation in the Sea of Prosperidad by the Kingdom of the Church.

There will only be an emergency supply line, by military vessels and bulk food supplies, on the Demetric by means of cabotage, without going out to sea, passing along the coasts of Malvekia until crossing the Kylondia Pass.

As for the island of Vikonna and the territory of Lower Viconia, under the military jurisdiction of the Captaincy General of Joné, a curfew has been announced in the Northeast District, where the cities of Ribera (formerly Vikonna City) and Borja (formerly Borgand) have reported "suspicious armed uprisings" that according to the Ministry of the Interior, they are "being controlled." On the island of Gayola, tomorrow the intendants assigned by the central government to the provinces of the island will arrive in Santa Dominica.

There have been many protests in the streets of Corales, Prata, Seaburgo, and mainly, Graia, about the end of the conflict in Aislada. On 1 January, the conflict between the nations of Omonia and Klonazepam began, although on 2 January Klonazepam surrendered to Omonia, which did not stop an intervention by the Islamic Federation of the Lafari, an internal armed conflict in Klonazepam and the naval confrontation of the powers of Valsora.

Some protests are in front of the Lafari Embassy and others in front of the Omonian Embassy, while public opinion is divided. Many defend Omonian aggression, mainly the Republic's Deltan ethnic group, which makes up 28% of the population. On the other hand, several jurists claim that Lafari's intervention was "in pursuit of the right of self-determination of peoples" despite the fact that the Klonazepam regime was repressive and undemocratic.

However, Atrocha declares its neutrality to the conflict, being the first nation to do so. But, unlike others, the government has not condemned or singled out either side, and trade has not stopped. Omonia is in charge of power distribution in the Eastern Provinces and is a nation highly respected by the Deltan ethnic group, while Lafari is the main supplier of oil and gas. Due to the dire consequences of leaning to one side, diplomatic personnel from both countries and their allies, as well as their investments, bank accounts, and products can enter and leave Atrocha as they please.

On 5 January, the Free Association of Deltan Peoples submitted a bill to parliament to suspend trade with Lafari, but the parliamentary commission in charge called it "stupidity" and shelved it. Likewise, Imam Mohamed Rashid, of the mosque of the small Islamic community in Dalónica, called on the government to stop the financing of Atrochans to the Omonian side, but his statements were rejected by the Superintendency of Banks: laissez faire.

While the public eye is divided in this conflict on a global scale, Atrocha remains a beacon of prosperity, allowing Valsora's economic freedom. However, the Ministry of Commerce has sent warnings for ships to use other trade routes to avoid crossing through Aislada, such as the End of the World route (so called because it is located in the southern confines of Valsora: the southern strait of Orientalis, the southern islands of Solitas and the south of Unistan). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will talk to the nation of Yukkira to be able to use its ports.
