Good morning TEP

I could make them part of the navy, but that wouldn’t be much better now would it?

Forget I asked.

A tank is just a very large can.

You're thinking about MBTs I'm thinking of what they shove propane into.

Kaonas wrote:Yeah… A win that won’t even be worth while, having thousands of men go overseas and die for a pointless cause.

I can see the citizen backlash now

I mean, you just described half of all Val's wars ever...

Interesting fact that I don't want anyone to act on: cow's parsnip (a relative of giant hogweed) does have edible flesh. It's in the middle of a living stalk, like the heartwood of a tree. (Dead stalks are hollow.)

Now, the reason I don't want anyone to act on this . . . it's a relative of giant frickin' hogweed. It has the same compound that makes hogweed poisonous, just in lower concentrations; those concentrations are still high enough to cause a "touched hogweed" reaction in some people, including my own dad. Finding out about this sensitivity (or developing it) by eating the stuff would be Very Not Good™️.

Even more interesting fact: carrots and actual parsnips are also relatives of the same plant. They also have the compound. People allergic to them are often just having the same reaction to an even lower level of the stuff.

Funny story I: hogsweed is phototoxic. It requires very strong lighting - like sunlight - to do it's dirty work. Otherwise it's significantly more mild than you might assume.

Pineapples digest you, apple trees have enough cyanide to kill an adult human, bananas are radioactive and cause hallucinations, green potatoes do the nightshade thing to people, rhubarb has enough oxalate in it to form kidney stones, caffeine in coffee is more toxic than either arsenic OR hydrogen chloride, oh and taro root has fvcking sharp needles in it when raw.

Why not just open friendly relations? You still get most of the benefits, just without the backlash.

Oh, I can just straight-up buy your country piece-by-piece. That's a less difficult idea.

Not really, but we do make alot of excess,

Being a fairly small nation and All, and if you have some good relationships with us, you will most likely get some pretty good discounts

Why do I have the feeling people are being nonsensical to joke with me?

You've never heard of the term "fluid tank" before?
Like a water tank? Fuel tank?

I’m serious about the tanks being part of the Air Force

The wa....nah this confirms it.

Kaonas wrote:I’m serious about the tanks being part of the Air Force

But why? Give me a reason@

Myehn, apparently Dumas doesn't believe that there's any such thing as a "water tank", and now I'm worried

Order of the Saint Dumas wrote:But why? Give me a reason@

well, we spend the least money on our marine force, about 15% on them, the air force gets about 40% and the Navy gets 45% so it would be easier to have some of the extra money that the Air Force has to operating and maintaining our tanks

Hence why our tanks are under the Air Force

just cut some spending from the air force and move it to the marines
or just merge the marines into the navy and give the navy the tanks

On the "Prevention of Hate Crime" resolution up for vote at the World Assembly:

I believe that section 1 of the resolution is unnecessary, and that motivation for a crime should not matter in regard to sentencing.

While I believe that our nations should address hate, this is the wrong way to go about it.

I would advise voting against this resolution and instead proposing one that addresses the government's role in discrimination, as section 2 of the current resolution does, while also proposing a general anti-harassment law to provide a punitively fair solution to hate speech.

Adolescence is thinking that The Joker is the good guy.

Adulthood is realizing that Commissioner Gordon doesn't get paid enough to deal with either.

Pure intelligence is realizing that Gotham is the worst city to live in, and that taxpayer money is most likely being siphoned somewhere else.

I'm never looking at a green potato the same way again.

Honestly I sometimes wonder if they ever hold public trials in Gotham anymore, or if everyone just gets an insanity plea before it gets that far.
