The Overmind, about a WA Proposal and wanted to share it with you.
The Dominion of The Overmind writes:
This is a call to all World Assembly nations who value democracy. A lot of shenanigans has gone on beneath the surface of the most recent at-vote proposal, and it underscores the more unseemly parts of our otherwise egalitarian institution. The current proposal sits at 50% not because the nations are so polarized on the merits of the resolution at hand but because certain bad actors, with a lot of sway, who have long monopolized this institution, are throwing their weight around to satisfy a petty, old, grudge against a fellow player. And, in doing so, they have undermined the autonomy of the World Assembly member nations, especially the smaller delegations and individual nations, which overwhelmingly side with this proposal.
So I humbly request that you vote FOR on this resolution. I have no personal stake in its victory. I'm not an author nor a co-author, nor am I in an alliance with one. I won't get a badge out of it, and I will likely piss off a lot of very influential people with this. But I don't care about that. I care about keeping this game fair and open to ordinary players and ridding the World Assembly of gross intraregional politics that have nothing to do with passing good legislation and everything to do with satisfying the egos of a very tiny, tightly-knit group of players. So for the sake of the democratic principles on which the World Assembly is founded, and which many of us hold in personal esteem, please take this opportunity, before the vote ends in fifty minutes, to push this proposal over the finish line, and send a message to people who think your say should play second fiddle to their grudges.
