One does not simply trust Valiraisia to keep track of their alts.
:D
Anyways, I heard we were talking about instruments...
I play flute, piano, bagpipes, vocals, some violin, and a lil' bit of guitar :D
No one ever takes me seriously when I say I play bagpipes :p

Oh, how I wish I played a brass instrument ;w;
I'm still gonna learn flute beatboxing.

Oi what's wrong with my poll?

Duolingo is pretty good but more focussed on people who don't have enough time to attend classes. I mostly use it to learn the basics of a language so I have an easier time learning the more complex parts of grammar etc. I'm learning multiple languages for fun.

But the most challenging thing for me is to learn a language without Duolingo. Imagine... idk you want to learn Basque (because one of your friends speak Basque and told you it's an easy language). Basque isn't on Duolingo right now so you're, if you use it a lot, out of your confort zone. That could be challenging but generally you can use online dictionaries, double checking et cetera and try to learn it anyway. I think it's best by making small sentences with "to be" ("John is a man", "Jane is a girl") or "to have" ("John has an apple", "Jane has a pear") first, then maybe add different persons ("I have an apple" is a different person than "He has an apple) et cetera. This is what (i think) Duolingo does, giving you a simple sentence so you can get used to the language and make it more complicated later on as you know more.
Classes on the other hand have a higher tempo, so you learn more things. That explains why your Duolingo was far behind; I've learned Latin before (Salvē, linguam latinam discebam) and learned more from Duolingo at the beginning but more from the internet later on.

Well, it's also because I was still at the beginning unit 2 in Duolingo and have been taking Italian for 6.3 years now
