Hello! I'm vary new to NationStates, and wanted to ask if you guys have any tips/advice for newcomers (for example, what do you wish you knew when you first started playing). I've enjoyed what I have played of this game so far, and I really want to get more involved with this game and its community!

I'm mainly looking for different methods/strategies I can use to increase some of my nation's stats. I really want to increase my economic output, influence and income inequality. So info on good ways to increase these stats would be much appreciated!
Ah, in that case: Choose options that would increase your nations economic output
"Ex the ones that have something about adding a few of your nation currency into the bank"
As for Income inequality: Usually the last (or sometimes the middle) options are your best bet. You can also pick options that would seem to benefit the rich more than the poor. the opposite for lowering. You gotta get lucky enough to maybe get an issue that lets you raise taxes on rich people or provide more welfare.
I am currently working on a project that requires a map and was thinking of using the software MapTiler and noticed that the Eurth map was made using the same software. Does anyone know how to upload custom tiles to MapTiler?
Upload your custom tileset to Maptiller Cloud - Go to MapTiller Cloud - Maps and select a map style - Open the map style and click (...) below the map to edit a copy of the style.
Click "DATA SOURCES" in the top menu bar.
The top items are your custom datasets and tilesets.
Click them one by one in order to add them to the list of Active Data Sources.
Also, you might want to go to the Discord if you want realtime/active answers. This wall is dead quiet.
