The hard-nosed, humorless population of 1.102 billion Xadians are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Storm Spire. The average income tax rate is 74.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Xadian economy, worth 102 trillion shiny stuffs a year, is quite specialized and mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Book Publishing, and Uranium Mining. People take government jobs for the frequent flier miles, mystics are claiming that a simultaneous rise in scepticism and education budgets is correlation rather than causation, if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it... Xadian satellites can detect it, and the nation's universities are often mistaken for foreign embassies. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aidax's national animal is the dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
