The Rogue Nation of Hamteria is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Fürst Homsor von Schrecken with an iron fist, and remarkable for its free-roaming dinosaurs, state-planned economy, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.662 billion Hamterians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hamteria Stadt. The average income tax rate is 74.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Hamterian economy, worth 272 trillion Hamsters a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Tourism, and Uranium Mining. Average income is 74,289 Hamsters, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The studies of art and philosophy are banned, when people ask what the difference is between politicians and lawyers they are referred to document c15(iv) section 14.1 subsection 3.2 of the Jan 2015 political category definition guidance codes, this year's televised Budget Forecast has been cancelled because there was already one last year, and community centers have arisen from the ashes of demolished houses of worship. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Hamteria's national animal is the Hamster, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Kraft der Vorratshaltung.

Hamteria is ranked 61,674th in the world and 65th in Lands End for Most Subsidized Industry, scoring 3,169.13 on the Gilded Widget Scale.
