The Principality of Mistaya is a very large, cultured nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons, ban on automobiles, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 168 million Mistayans are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The relatively small, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 11.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient Mistayan economy, worth 8.50 trillion florins a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Basket Weaving, Trout Farming, and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 50,579 florins, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.4 times as much as the poorest.

Public shaming is the bedrock of Mistayan society, citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, and a dictator has seized power and outlawed elections. Crime, especially youth-related, is almost non-existent. Mistaya's national animal is the unicorn, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Mistaya is ranked 249,957th in the world and 2,990th in The East Pacific for Largest Populations, with 168 million capita.
