You won't say your ideological affiliation, I can only assume the worst.

Very late geography fact: I am tired and cannot do this right now.

Goodnight, ladies and gentlemen.

Allow me to step in:
Only 2% of the Caribbean’s 7000 islands are actually inhabited, and 75% of the Caribbean’s 44 million population lives in just 2 islands, Cuba & Hispaniola (which is shared between Haiti & Dominican Republic)

guys lets give them the benefit of the doubt unless they start spouting off right wing ideology their fine and maybe being here will change their mind and help expose them to our philosophy/way of thinking

I generally despise Centrist more than those on the right, the right at least is sincere in its crimes (I think this opinion of mine is influenced by how politics works where I live, basically the center parties are the majority, and they strive to not let absolutely anything change)

Imagine if people took communism as a religion? After eating an MC Donald's he would say, "Karl Marx, I sinned, even though you didn't say anything about it"

Neat fact, even I, the fact giver, didn't know that.

I think a frozen centrist is preferable to a reactionary rightist. Even if a centrist ended up supporting a reactionary policy, it’s rightists who draft it up and drum up support and seek to move even further than that policy goes

Daily geography fact: We all may know that the Nile is either the 2nd or 1st longest river in the world.

(People still debate between it and the Amazon river)

But here are some other neat facts about the river.

The Nile river borders a total of 11 nations.(DRC, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan)

The Nile is also very special because it flows from South, to North.

Along with that, 95% of Egypt's population live less than 14 miles from the Nile.

And I believe this is obvious, but the Nile is the longest river in Africa.

Hope you learned something new!

Xenopheonixion wrote:Before I do research on what to do for the daily geography fact, now that January is about to end, I must ask.

Should I make a Valentine's day themed flag?

Along with changing the flag, the "Tropics" in my nation's classification will be changed to "Cherished Lands".

I will remain with the Valentine's theme from Feb 14th - March 1st.

One last thing, I will accept responses from Jan 31st to Feb 13th!

A lot of rivers flow from the south to the north. I think this is from a concept people have that north = up when that's not true. River just flow downhill and elevation doesn't really have much to do with cardinal directions

I'm inclined to agree, however, not for those reasons, but because they feign the veneer of being in the center but ultimately end up supporting right-wing policy. However, at the end of the day, I realize the real villain is the one legislating right wing ideology and propagating it, which is, yk, the right.

I'm about to ask my social studies teacher why he considered it "Rare".

(epic doom music moment)

Side note: I don't have the courage, or time to ask ;D

AFAIK, most northward flowing rivers are in rural areas, incl. Siberia, Canada, or a Colombian/Guyanese jungle. The Nile is therefore the only one associated with a large human population living on its banks, this makes it seem from a human habitation perspective that they are rare. There’s a big one in Florida, too.

In only a few weeks it is going to become Valentine's Day, a day for celebrating romantic love. Not everyone is exactly into that, whether for reasons like not having a romantic partner, finding the holiday weird, being aromantic or related, etc. With that, I want to try out a project I've been wanting to do for a few years now: DSA Palentine's Day. You may have heard of Palentine's Day already (not to confuse with a similarly named polity...) as a platonic alternative to Valentine's Day that celebrates friendship instead of romance. How I want to try and do this in the DSA is with a Palentine Match Up.

How it would work is that anyone interested is sent a questionnaire about themselves and they answer honestly. It'd be questions like what hobbies you have, favorite foods, etc. Normal friend questions. With all the data collected, I organize it and then, on February 14th, I release it as an interactive form (similar to Choose Your Own Adventure) that will narrow down questions and give a recommendation for a possible new friend you could have in the DSA based on who responded to the initial questionnaire.

This is a proposal of mine, however, and I want to gauge interest in this before attempting it. Would any of you be interested in this happening or even participating in this? If so, like this post. Preferably only like this post if you actually would like this to be here and not jus to like it (I'm looking at you Abso and Xeno).

This is not a sign-up here, just something to gauge interest.

Daily geography fact: I hate to say this, but a few island nations are expected to be underwater by 2100, those nations are:

Maldives: flattest nation in the world

Tuvalu: Place with a reversed song instrumental called "Blood Pop" as EAS alarm

Kiribati: Island nation that's in all 4 hemispheres

Narue: Most obese nation in the world

Marshall islands: Neighbor of The federated states of Micronesia

Where i live, the centrists parties and people are usually just right parties. Like, there are literally parties in here where some people just make straight up fascist words, and still they say they are in a "center" spectrum somehow.

I have passed through the meeting of the waters of the Amazonas River several times. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, there are several legends about it, because people who have drowned there, their bodies have not been found, so they think that the meeting of the waters is a portal to another world ( amazon's isekai, That sounds funny (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
