Elections are coming up soon! We will be voting on two Senate positions in the Council of Nine. In order to vote you must be a citizen (your World Assembly nation must reside in 10000 Islands or A Taco Paradise) and you must be registered on our Proboards forum (see more in the dispatch below).
The Senate positions are:
Blue Canaria North - responsible for putting together the Monthly Report for the Delegate and publishing it to the Islands.
New Republica South - arranges debates and the Delegate Straw Poll to gauge interest for potential new Delegates.
Senators also bring up and vote on new legislation, vote on embassy openings and closures, and work with Chief Executive Lenlyvit in other matters as well.

I bet you're thinking to yourself, "I'm on the RMB and talking to some pretty cool people, I answer issues, I'm in the World Assembly and I've endorsed the Delegate. So why should I join XKI's forum on Proboards?" Well, there's more there than you think, and chances are good there's something there you'll find interesting.
Are you playing NationStates, a politically-themed game, and wondering what happened to all the regional politicking? Does it look like your elected leaders just sit around all day and do nothing? Well, it's true we sit around all day. But we spend a fair amount of time in the 
Council of Nine and Paffnia Rotunda sub-boards discussing upcoming legislation and ways to improve the region.
If lawmaking doesn't appeal, maybe you'd be more interested in joining the "deep state"; a cog in the great machinery that drives the engine of bureaucracy. If so, check out the XKI Job Board! Here you'll find opportunities to get involved in planning regional activities, making sure the Council's i's are dotted and t's crossed, joining the Foreign Affairs team to maintain our alliances, or just take up a short-term job to design a seal or two. Jobs typically pay a stipend or reward, which brings me to the next bullet point . . .
It may surprise you to know that XKI has a functioning economy that runs off the forum and is based on the Taco, XKI's currency. The Regional Reserve Offices are available for those nations wishing to invest their hard-earned Tacos in various endeavors available in the Shop. The Marketplace provides an opportunity to start your own XKI business and turn your skills into Tacos.
One of the most popular destinations on the forum is Taco Island , run by Mayor Jabberwocky. Taco Island boasts the Taco Tiki Lounge, the Taco Island Restaurant and Bar, dozens of spam threads, and the absurd shadow government running the show there.
The Great Houses of the 10,000 Islands are groups of Islanders recruited by the same nations and have banded together to recruit more, relax, converse, and compete with other Houses. There are currently four Great Houses - The House of Improving Wordiness, The House of Defenders, The House of the Sword, and The House of Tasdorf.
