The People's Republic of Freyjavania is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Lady Freyja with a fair hand, and notable for its rum-swilling pirates, museums and concert halls, and multi-spousal wedding ceremonies. The compassionate, democratic population of 2.832 billion Freyjavanians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded, outspoken morass — juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Elstown. The average income tax rate is 93.0%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Freyjavanian economy, worth 274 trillion Freyjas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Book Publishing and Pizza Delivery. Average income is 97,086 Freyjas, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Lady Freyja's media campaigns take a hiatus around exam week, nature reserves often contain artificial waterfalls and concrete paths, libraries have replaced overdue book fines with mandatory mental health assessments, and glittering new sports stadiums adorn every city and town. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Freyjavania's national animal is the cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is non-existent.

Freyjavania is ranked 14,784th in the world and 350th in The East Pacific for Lowest Crime Rates, with 94.43 law-abiding acts per hour.
