# First week of 100mph speed limits on Speke roads, what have we learned? :blue_car:

It has been a week since the national speed limit on Motorways with variable speed limits within Speke has increased to **100mph**, as part of a trial. The speed limit has only been applied to the S1 motorway, connecting Wielek to the country's capital.

So, what have we learned so far? It's too hard to tell in such a short span of time, but monitoring equipment has seen:
- An overall decrease in tailgating, and dangerous overtakes.
- There have only been 24 speeding violations in those 7 days, down from an average of 200-250 on the stretch of road weekly. 21/24 violations were no more than 15mph over the limit.
- There has only been 1 accident this week on the stretch of road, as a result of distracted driving. Thankfully, 0 fatalities.
- A majority of cars travel between 70-80mph, not utilising the full 100mph limit when possible.

What do these results mean though? Once again, it has only been a week and drivers may be unaware of the new limit and extra cautious when adjusting to this new speed limit. Analysts have stated that countries who swapped road directions have seen similar effects in previous studies, so the same could be happening here.

First Snow of the Season Hits Gallatin and Greycott Causing Choas

A early season snowstorm brought the first snow of the season to the North of the country. Between 2-6 in (5-15 cm) fell during the night and early morning hours. The New Gough Island Weather Service predicted 1-3 in (2.5-7.6 cm) across the region. The storm already brought 1-2 feet (30-61 cm) of snow across the vast South with mountainous regions receiving even more. The storm was stronger than previously thought as rain switched to snow around 12 am and continued at as late as 10 am. Traffic across the north was slow going with many spinouts and sliding occurring. When the storm cleared the region, temperatures dropped to below freezing meaning any slush and snow will freeze up. The storm brought power outages in some areas. Many school districts had late start times as a result of the unexpected heavier snow. The coldest air of the season this far will keep temperatures below or at freezing during the daytime hours for the next few days before a rebound back to average. More light snow is in the forecast amid the cold air.

The Adrinian City Police Department reported this morning that the prime suspect in the attempted bombing case has been located and is currently in police custody. DNA analysis revealed the driver of the explosive-laden van to be a man by the name of Jesus Saurez, a self proclaimed member of the “April Rising” far-right group and resident of Adrinian City. Saurez had previously been active on some online spaces that centered around talks of violence against the government, however many such forums have been shut down in previous months, apparently out of fear of government surveillance.

Police tracked Juarez to a hotel room near the border of the Capital District, where the subject attempted to flee on foot but was stopped and apprehended by officers that had formed a perimeter around the building. It is not known at this time whether or not Suarez took these actions on behalf of a particular group or of his own accord.

Federal Authorities are working with local police to interrogate and investigate Suarez further in an attempt to uncover the extent of his activities and identify possible future dangers that could come from a group such as the April Rising. Authorities claim retaliation by such groups is possible, and that Saurez may have been a part of a larger plan. And while there does not appear to be further actions in the works, authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant.

Good evening, today in the studio with us, as we announced, is the presidential candidate, we could say part of the opposition for now, and the leader of the Communist Party, Anton Vorobev. Welcome to the show.

Mr. Vorobev, I must first ask you how satisfied you are with the results of the District Elections? In my opinion, it was a very good result.

I am satisfied and a great result was achieved, which in my opinion should be used. When I say that, I think that we will justify the expectations of the voters. There is no chance here in Layton that we will be in power, nor could there be, but we are the leading opposition force here together with the socialists. While in Planton city represents an unavoidable factor as it stands now. These elections were very important because they show what kind of party infrastructure we have in these two important cities. As well as the upcoming State Elections on April 20th.

As you know, the Layton District government was formed, and that should not be strange, because the Christian Democrats have 51% of the vote plus the support of the People and Justice Party and the Right Alternative Party. While the Planton City District is very dense, you together with the Democrats have a 2% advantage over the conservatives. I would ask you what is holding back the formation of the government if it were not for one thing, which is that you did not support the democrats in the snap elections in 2022. What is the relationship between the communists and the democrats?

The relationship between us is very complicated, there are a lot of things ... there are those in our and their environment who do not give in on some issues. Even in Planton city, our people got involved in a polemic with theirs over the impeachment of Mrs. Hall. This situation made the process of forming the government much more difficult.

I have no doubts about the last thing you said, but this situation is unsustainable for the population there, something has to change. I talked to a professor down there and he told me that if the democrats do not agree with you on the formation of the government, the people will start to consider them the main culprits for crisis. And he advises you to make an agreement again with the Christian Democrats + People and Justice party. What do you say to the advice?

As for the talks, they were conducted between the leaders there. Mrs. Hall and I have not talked yet, so we do not rule out an agreement with our mediation. The advice is not that bad, but there is one problem, that is, a political subject that you did not mention. And that is RAP (Right Alternative Party), I strongly doubt that the Christian Democrats will now risk losing their support a month before the snap presidential election. They are very important for them, but I must say that otherwise we should not reject such a possibility. But I think that it will happen if it happens to be near the end of the deadline for the formation of the government. Basically, we have to get Planton city out of a possible intrusion into the vortex of elections.

What will be your main focus in the election campaign for the president? I have to admit that you have almost the same view on social issues as Mr. Kanaev, but you are still a left-wing alternative. Do you think you can present the same social view better than him?

First of all, I will insist on a greater economic role than a social one. But don't get me wrong, social issues need to be resolved. Social issues were primary more than twenty years ago, because in order to create better economic conditions, you first had to create a positive social climate in the country. The situation has changed, as have the priorities. As for the economy, I believe that state-owned enterprises should be present as much as possible in the country.

There are nine days left until State Elections, what are your expectations, do you think that at the level of the four federal states you can leave an excellent result as in the District Elections?

I think that we are in a very good position and that we are taking the opposition into our hands, and I will even dare to say that we might even win in one state, according to our estimates, it could be the South Coast. The reason, in my opinion, is very clear, and that is economic inequality. with other regions. There are not too many investments there, although tourism is very good, it still cannot be the main driving force for the well-being of the people there. So we think that we can really win there. When you go down there, you can agree that that part differs in many ways from of the rest of the country and of course we have to change that.

I want to ask you and you probably noticed that in 2019 the Progressive Party became one with the Christian Democrats, in 2021 your former ally the Social Democratic Party united with the Democratic Party and in 2022 the former right-wing coalition Patriotic list became the Right Alternative Party. Is there a possibility of uniting you with the Socialists ?Similarly, I did not see Labor and the Greens in these elections in Layton and Planton City, are they also planning something similar?

We have a solid coalition with the socialists, and I think that is quite enough. Now it is possible that someone might want more, but for now we are where we are. Labor and the Greens came out on the lists of the Democratic Party and UR (United Regions) did not come out. But as far as I know, they will probably join the Democrats. Because, to be honest, they can't compete with the Democrats since they started reforming their party program when they returned to the principles of the political left. In my opinion, that's nothing strange, and they also agree a lot with the policies of the Democratic Party than with us, it could be noticed these two years.

At the end of the show, are you sure that the communists together with the socialists will take over the helm of the opposition and maybe one day win power in the future?

As for the opposition taking over, I am convinced that it will happen because we have proven to be an exceptional alternative option. This alone increases our popularity in the southern regions of the country, I mean the parts that are poorer and that the people there want economic decentralization. I emphasized that in We expect victory in the South Coast precisely for this reason. If we work hard and clearly present our ideas to the citizens, we will achieve an excellent result in the 2027 general elections.

Tension between Cordomonivence and Yugoslavia rises up once again after troops from both countries clashed today

Today, Wednesday, April 24, the news broke that approximately between 9:00 and 10:00 in the morning, a squad of soldiers from the Cordobez Army was patrolling the Cordobez-Yugoslav border in the disputed region of the Varenki Plateu untill,according to them,they accidently crossed the border and entered the Yugoslavian side.

After they crossed the border,they continued patrolling untill a group of Yugoslavian soldiers spotted them and tried to make them leave but the Cordobez squad refused,arguing that they were on their side of the border and violence began to rise between the two groups in the form of insults.After multiple minutes,some of the Yugoslavian soldiers fired warning shots and in one of this shots, a Cordobez soldier was injured after getting accidentally shot in its chest.

After the Cordobez soldier,identified as Corporal Ambert Erckens,got shot,the Cordobez squad quickly left the area and headed to the Hospital of Robbe,which was the nearest hospital,this in an attempt to save the life of the injured soldier who was now highly bleeding.After the squad managed to get to the hospital,Ambert Erckens had already lost a lot of blood and sadly didn't manage to survive.

This situation has caused controversy in whole Cordomonivence, with some saying its fault of the Yugoslavian group, others saying its fault of the Cordobez group and others highly critizicing that the Cordobez squad wasn't qualified for the task and couldn't provide the proper emergency treatment to the injured soldier.

The vice president Oda Adelinde Nussbaum already stated a request to the Yugoslavian government of identifying and properly punishing the Yugoslavian troops that were part of this aggresive action.
